Despite the fact that stainless steel crowns are the most durable restorations
in pediatric dentistry, they are still under-utilized. By adding this relatively
simple treatment modality to your practice, the quality of care for your young
patients can only improve.
With regards to pulpal treatment in the primary dentition, a number of
controversies continue to spread confusion. This course will attempt to clarify
the factors that will help you decide between indirect pulp cap, pulpotomy,
pulpectomy and extraction.
Participants will be able to practice these treatments on a pediatric dentoform
in order to be able to perform these treatments clinically with ease.
Dr. Geoffrey W. Smith completed his Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at Case Western Reserve
University in Cleveland in 1986. He is the current Chief of Dentistry of the Eastern Health Region
of Newfoundland.
