This interactive, research-based seminar for dentists, hygienists and assistants<br />

bridges the gap between dental ergonomics and work-related pain so you can<br />

work more comfortably, prevent injuries and extend your career. Discover how<br />

posture, movement, equipment selection and adjustment impact your health,<br />

and implement powerful prevention strategies in the operatory.<br />

Course Objectives:<br />

• Properly position patient, headrest and light to treat various arches and<br />

quadrants;<br />

• Identify the 3 essential ergonomic criteria for selecting loupes;<br />

• Recognize and prevent common MSDs in dentistry;<br />

• Selection and adjustment guidelines for delivery systems, stools and chairs;<br />

• Apply proper body mechanics to prevent back, neck and shoulder pain.<br />

Mrs. Bethany Valachi is a physical therapist, dental ergonomic consultant and author of “Practice<br />

Dentistry Pain-Free”. She is CEO of Posturedontics® and ergonomics instructor at OHSU School of<br />

Dentistry in Portland, Oregon.
