We slept till ten o’clock every day. At half past ten, we had breakfast together. After that,<br />
my father left the hotel and went swimming till 3 o‘clock in the afternoon. My mother read<br />
one entire book each day. My brother played computer games all afternoon. And me, I li<br />
stened to my favourite songs as long as I wanted.<br />

Spiegazioni 1: il passato<br />
Si usa il tempo Simple past per raccontare avvenimenti conclusi nel passato. Questo<br />
tempo corrisponde principalmente al passato prossimo italiano ad esempio: io ho fatto, io<br />
sono andato /a ma l'uso in inglese è un po' più complicato.<br />
Per questo il tempo verbale inglese Simple Past nella traduzione italiana diventa spesso il<br />
tempo passato prossimo o l’imperfetto.<br />
La coniugazione regolare è molto semplice: si aggiunge all'infinito la desinenza "d" se la<br />
consonante finale è sonora e "t" se la consonante finale è sorda<br />

Questa forma è uguale per tutte le persone:<br />
I listened - e corrisponde all'italiano: (io) ho ascoltato, ascoltai<br />
