The growth of packaging
it must be “ecocompatible”
Editorial
In the leading article published on page 5 of F&C Magazine, we claimed: “During Drupa 2012, it was the printing of packaging
which took centre stage. Our industry is linked to consumer goods, in which packaging is increasingly used, for its
growing adoption within the food industry. Packaging contributes to the preservation of products, whilst, at the same time,
helping to commercialise food, thanks to the engaging marketing that it is able to provide”. In order to delve further into
this summary, our thoughts turn to the recent progress made in the “industry”, in terms of printing, thanks to water-based
inks that do not release solvents into the atmosphere. We are also drawing attention to the production of corrugated card,
which, thanks to its properties, helps to keep food fresh, even in the absence of a refrigerator. This “magic” is made possible thanks
to a substance which is used in the production of the corrugated card and which extends its function, contributing to the prolonged
preservation of vegetables and, more generally, food products.
Continuing with the theme of progress and respect for the environment, the news regarding the production of bottles for mineral
water is of great significance. They are manufactured using “sugar” as a base raw material. The advantage boasted by this kind
of bottle is demonstrated in the way in which it decomposes in a very short period of time, without damaging the environment.
Since 1987, the year in which our magazine was born, we have always covered the topic of ecocompatibility. Similarly, we have
rejoiced in the large and continuous development of our industry. However, the abnormal increase in the volume of rubbish, as a
direct result of packaging, must encourage all industry workers to seek recyclable packaging or, alternatively, that which is environmentally
friendly, like the bottles made from sugar.
La crescita dell’imballaggio
deve essere “ecocompatibile”
C
