Nell’ultimo anno il
soprano valdianese, ha debuttato
prima a L’Aquils e poi a Basciano,
nell’agosto 2012, nell’ambito
della XIII Edizione del festival
intemazionale di musica “Pietre
che cantano”, il ruolo di Serafina,
protagonista femminile de “Il
campanello” di Gaetano Donizetti.
Il soprano e’ risultata
vincitrice anche del V concorso
internationale di canto lirico a
ruoli “Artein Canto Citta’ di Basciano
2012”, ed ha entusiasmato
il folto pubblico presente.
Gia’ negli anni passati Valentina
si e’ fatta strada in diversi
contesti, ricordiamo il “Festival
Pergolesi” a Monsano (AN),
dove ha debuttato il ruolo di Euridice
nella Canta a cinque voci
“Chiuso nel centro, Orfeo” del
compositore Di Giandomenico,
ed al Teatro Moriconi di Jesi,
dove ha interpretato il ruolo di
Susanna da “Le nozze di Figaro”
con la regia di Brokhous, ed alla
rassegna le corti dell’arte a Cava
De Tirreni, debuttando “La contadina
astuta” di Pargolesi diretta
dal M Lanzillotta.
In attesa dell’uscita in primavera
del suo ultimo lavoro discografico
“Jescesole” una raccolta
di napoletane del settecento e
dell’ottocento con arrangiamenti
curati dal Mons. Cacioppi ed
accompagnata alla chitarra dal
Mons. Francesco Lagone, gli
auguri dei nostri lettori per gli
ulteriori successiche verranno.

SIMONA DE ROSA MAKES SPECIAL
LIVE PERFORMANCE AT IAM
Italian singer and songwriter Simona De Rosa held a special live
performance at The Italian American Museum (IAM). She was
accompanied by special guest musicians Francesco Ciniglio on
drums and tammorra and Enrico De Trizio on hammond. Simona,
an acclaimed jazz singer from Italy, graduated from “Federico
II” University and studied voice in Naples, Rome and New York.
Her vocal versatility allowed her to perform a number of different
genres all over Italy and in New York City with many well known
and respected musicians. Her debut album, “Inside Quartet”
featured some of Naples’ best jazz musicians. Simona dedicated
this performance to the memory of her good friend, Little Italy's
James C. Napodano.

Religious Feast Madonna Maria
Santissima delle Grazie of Minturno
and Sagra delle Regne of
Stamford. Founded by Stamford
resident Antoinette Mallozzi with
a small group of supporters, the
festival is celebrated simultaneously
with Stamford’s sister city
of Minturno, Italy. This year
marks the 59th anniversary of
Minturno’s local celebration.
‘I started this feast 10 years ago
to help keep the traditions of my
family and those of my Italian
community alive,’ says Antoinette
Mallozzi. ‘Not only is it
important for my generation to
continue these customs, but it
is even more important for our
children and later generations
to understand where they have
come from.’
