PROFILO PROFESSIONALE – PROFESSIONAL PROFILE 

David Chiaramonti è Ingegnere Meccanico, Dottore di Ricerca in Energetica, ricercatore a tempo determinato e 

Professore a contratto presso l’Università di Firenze per il corso Energie Rinnovabili (Laurea in Ing.Meccanica ed 

Ing.Ambiente e Territorio). Si è specializzato in Energia ed in Energie Rinnovabili (principalmente nei settori 

Biomassa, Eolico ed Idroelettrico) e Tecnologie Innovative, con particolare attenzione alla produzione di energia 

in zone rurali. Si è occupato di Trasferimento di Tecnologie e Know-how verso i Paesi Terzi (Cina ed India), 

Dissalazione (in combinazione con Fonti Rinnovabili di Energia), e Valutazione di Impatto Ambientale 

(Inquinamento Atmosferico). 

E’ stato ed è coordinatore e partner di diversi progetti e studi supportati dalla Commissione Europea (DGI-Aid, 

VI, XII-Research, XIII, XVII-Tren, JRC-Ispra), dalla World Bank (Asian Development Bank) e da Enti Nazionali 

(Min.Ambiente ed Agricoltura, Regioni, Province) nell’ambito dei settori di competenza, sviluppando competenze 

specifiche relativamente alla preparazione, presentazione, gestione e coordinamento di progetti Europei. E’ 

esperto per la Commissione Europea per la valutazione di progetti R&D e di programmi Comunitari, e per il 

Ministero dell’Ambiente, il CRA-MIPAF, e la Regione Toscana. 

E’ membro di diverse Associazioni, tra cui l’International Energy Agency, IEA-Bioenergy Task 34 (Biomass 

Pyrolysis), ed ISES-Italia. E’ stato consulente nel settore dei sistemi Qualità UNI-EN-ISO 9000 ed è qualificato 

dal CEPAS come External Auditor per le norme ambientali UNI EN ISO 14000.

L’attività di ricerca riguarda le Fonti Rinnovabili di Energia, ed in particolare 

Ø Le biomasse ed i biocombustibili: produzione, upgrading ed uso per la generazione di 

energia e trasporti. 

Ø Sistemi solari a concentrazione per generazione di energia elettrica o solar cooling 

Ø Mini-idroelettrico ed eolico.

Coordinatore di numerosi progetti, la maggior parte supportati dalla Commissione Europea o da 

Ministeri. Il lavoro ha compreso lo studio di schemi per lo sviluppo delle Fonti Rinnovabili di 

Energia (principalmente Biomassa ed Idroelettrico), per l’utilizzo delle risorse locali, valutazioni 

tecnico-economiche dei sistemi energetici, trasferimento di tecnologie ai Paesi Terzi, dissalazione
