È sempre un’emozione particolare scrivere l’editoriale del numero di BM che annuncia l’evento più atteso dell’anno: il Mercatino di Natale. Nel corso degli anni il mercatino è diventano un traino commerciale, ma anche, idealmente, lo spunto per numerose altre attività cittadine, soprattutto di ordine culturale che riempiono le gallerie d’arte, i musei e le chiese di interessanti iniziative e mostre legate alla città. Il mercatino è quindi diventato un’occasione in più per far conoscere la tradizione locale ai numerosi ospiti, ma anche a concittadini, spaziando per tutti i suoi aspetti, spesso rinnovati e adattati alla realtá odierna, ma sempre ancorati all’autenticitá locale. Auguro a tutti di trovare uno o più punti d’interesse nello sfogliare questa bella rivista che racconta Bolzano, porta delle Dolomiti. Das Editorial für die Winterausgabe des Bozen Magazins zu schreiben, ist für mich jedes Jahr etwas besonderes. In dieser Nummer kündigen wir das wichtigste Event im Jahresverlauf Bozens an: den Christkindlmarkt. Für mich weitaus mehr als eine Veranstaltung mit kommerziellem Zweck, die Stadt und Geschäfte füllt. Nein, der Weihnachtsmarkt geht weit darüber hinaus, ist längst zur Kulturinstitution geworden. Jahr um Jahr werden um den Weihnachtsmarkt herum zahlreiche Veranstaltungen angeboten. Jedes Jahr kommt Neues hinzu. Ausstellungen, Vorführungen, Musik. Der Christkindlmarkt ist bei weitem keine Veranstaltung nur für die Gäste, sondern auch eine Gelegenheit, den Boznern selbst ihre Stadt und die Traditionen ihrer Stadt nahe zu bringen. Traditionen, die mit der Gegenwart Schritt gehalten, aber nichts an Authentizität verloren haben. Ich wünsche Ihnen allen beim Durchblättern dieser schönen Zeitschrift etwas zu finden, was Ihr ganz persönliches Interesse in besonderem Maße anspricht, was Sie in besonderem Maße an Bozen, an das Tor der Dolomiten bindet. Writing the editorial for the winter issue of this magazine has always been something special for me. Among other things, this issue deals with the most important event of the year: the Christmas market. This is far more than mere commercialism aimed at boosting sales. No, the Christmas market is something much more, it has long become a cultural highlight. Year after year, all manner of cultural events are organised around the market, with new ones being added each year: exhibitions, performances, music. So the market is definitely not only for our visitors but also for the people of our town, enabling them to discover and revive their traditions, traditions which may have been updated but which have certainly not lost their authenticity. I hope that all readers of this issue will find something which interests them personally and which enables them to identify with the town of Bolzano-Bozen, the Gateway to the Dolomites.
