TEXAS DOORS - Continued

TEXAS DOORS - Continued from page 18 available to our customers,” said Elseman. Texas Doors will also be collaborating with its sister company, which got its start as a local cabinet supplier in the Dallas region. When Stanley purchased Woodmont Cabinetry, he grew the firm into a cabinet supplier that served customers throughout the Midwestern and Eastern U.S. Now, the two companies are sharing economies of scale in their new facility. Texas Doors is still focused on being a custom cabinet shop, said Elseman, but Woodmont Cabinetry can now run its product down the former’s production line. In addition to Elseman and Tidwell, other key employees include National Sales Manager Mike Lidiak and Plant Manager John Abbott. A member of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) and Wood Component Manufacturers Association (WCMA), Texas Doors hasn’t been completely immune to the national economic turmoil that’s adversely affecting its customers, suppliers and competitors. This year saw lower sales volume for both companies, said Elseman, and a growing demand for less costly products. “Demand for premium products is definitely lower right now,” said Elseman. To deal with customers’ needs for less expensive products, Texas Doors has been promoting its economical doors, and making more of them as customers respond to the wider range of options. The firm also relies on its reputation for good customer service, short lead times and high-value products to keep its clients coming back for more. “We also keep our customers’ best interest in mind, knowing that they also need to make a profit,” said Elseman, who added that Texas Doors often works with its customers when coming up with new product ideas and modifications to existing items. “We not only want to sell to our customers, but we also want to help them attract their own customers.” Looking to the future, Elseman said Texas Doors will continue growing its sales and expanding its offerings (including even more custom and prefinished products) to meet the needs of our customers. “We actually see the economic downturn as an opportunity,” said Elseman, “and as a time to grow our market share by being a market leader.” For more information visit www.texasdoors.com. HERITAGE - Continued from page 20 bers the company profited the very first year it was open. All six employees had the same job description—whatever needs to be done, do it! The emphasis was on quality from day one…..quality in employees, products, equipment and customer relationships. “Our history has been to stick with quality oriented vendors and not base purchasing on ONLY finding the cheapest price,” he continued. “We want our reputation to be one of ‘partner and friend’ with our customers as well as our vendors. This has always been of utmost importance in our dealings day to day.” Heritage currently markets its products throughout Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. As operations continue to grow, Blackmon indicated expansions are on the horizon. “We are researching other locations currently. Our flooring market is expanding and we are planning to add at least one additional branch in 2012 and more in 2013.” Heritage opened its flooring department in “We want our reputation to be one of ‘partner and friend’ with our customers as well as our vendors. This has always been of utmost importance in our dealings day to day.” Fred Blackmon, Heritage Forest Products Inc. November 2000 while still in Orlando. However Blackmon remains dedicated to customer service and quality over size. “As I stated in our very first brochure, ‘It is not our goal to be the biggest but rather we strive to be the best’ in our marketplace. Maintaining quality and honesty in all aspects of our company will always be our primary mission.” Heritage’s key people at its Florida location include Vice President and General Manager Blackmon; Assistant General Manager Greg Metts; Controller Peggy Hearrin; Flooring Department Manager Tim Blackmon and Salesmen Steve O’Connell, Jack Evans, Terry Hyde, Ron Horstkamp, Steve Kearns and Rob Cone.
