A Unitel venceu o concurso para se tornar a segunda operadora de telecomunicações
em São Tomé e Príncipe. De acordo com a representante
do Banco Mundial (BM) para o sector, Isabel Neto, trata-se de
uma candidatura “tecnicamente competente”. “Está-se neste momento
à espera de finalizar as formalidades, nomeadamente a entrega de uma
garantia bancária por parte da Unitel”, adiantou a responsável, no final
de uma audiência com o presidente da Assembleia Nacional, Alcino
Pinto. As duas partes discutiram a necessidade de se assegurar "uma
concorrência efectiva”, bem como outros aspectos ligados ao direito do
consumidor.
Unitel won the contest to become the second telecommunications operator
in Sao Tome and Principe. According to the representative of the
World Bank (WB) for the sector, Isabel Neto, this is a "technically competent"
application. "We are now waiting to finalize the formalities, namely
the delivery of a bank guarantee by Unitel", said the official, at the end of
an audience with the President of the National Assembly, Alcino Pinto.
The two parties discussed the need to ensure an "effective competition",
as well as other aspects linked to consumer protection law.
O Presidente da Guiné Equatorial, Teodoro Obiang, vai conceder blocos
exploratórios de petróleo a empresas nigerianas interessadas em
operar no país. Segundo o chefe de Estado, no poder desde 1979, esta
concessão irá permitir à Guiné Equatorial tirar proveito da “vasta experiência”
que a Nigéria tem neste domínio e ajudar a desenvolver o sector
de petróleo e gás.
The President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang, is going to grant oil
exploration blocks to Nigerian companies interested in operating in the
country. According to the Head of State, in power since 1979, this grant
will allow Equatorial Guinea to benefit from the "vast experience" that Nigeria
has in this area and help to develop the oil and gas sector.

Este é, desde 13 de Março, o valor mínimo
de capital social de uma empresa. Trata-se de
uma medida que visa incentivar o sector privado,
segundo o primeiro-ministro cabo-verdiano
José Maria Neves. “Queremos facilitar
a criação de empresas e ter um ambiente de
negócios favorecedor da realização de investimentos.
A limitação legal que havia na criação
das empresas em termos de realização de capital
(2,5 milhões de escudos/2,6 mil euros/3,3
mil dólares) era um obstáculo”, admitiu o governante.

adjudicação de duas obras em Moçambique
para o conglomerado industrial brasileiro Vale
do Rio Doce, no valor conjunto de cerca de 228
milhões de dólares. As duas empreitadas dizem
respeito à requalificação do corredor ferroviário
de Nacala, sendo que o prazo para a execução
dos dois troços é de 22 meses nas secções “6
+ 7.1” e de 17 meses na secção “7.2”. Em comunicado,
a Somague adiantou que “as obras
dizem respeito à reabilitação da infra-estrutura
e super-estrutura ferroviária da linha de Nacala,
numa extensão de aproximadamente 600 quilómetros,
no corredor de Nacala".

industrial conglomerate Vale do Rio Doce, in the
combined value of about 228 million dollars. Both
work contracts concern the rehabilitation of the
Nacala rail corridor, and the deadline for the implementation
of the two sections is of 22 months
in the "6 + 7.1" sections and of 17 months in the
"7.2" section. In a statement, Somague said that
"the works concern the rehabilitation of the infrastructure
and the superstructure of Nacala
railway line, in a distance of approximately 600
kilometers, in the Nacala corridor".
O Presidente chinês, Xi Jinping, assegurou
que existe entre o país que lidera e África uma
“amizade sincera”, comprometendo-se a reforçar
as relações da China com as nações do
continente. “A China respeita à risca todos os
compromissos com África", disse o novo chefe
de Estado do país, na Tanzânia, durante um
périplo que também o levou à África do Sul e
ao Congo.
