Refined areas of Iuluis Popa<br />
It is w ell-known that some plac es are popular thanks to<br />
the people who attach their names and lives to them. It is the fact<br />
that <strong>Iulius</strong> Popa lives in Bă lţi ma<strong>de</strong> this town know n after 1996.<br />
<strong>Iulius</strong> Popa is a famous eminescolog, great collec tor of medals<br />
and c oins w ith the appearanc e of the outstanding poet, Mihai<br />
Eminescu, engraved on them. He is also consi<strong>de</strong>red to be the<br />
initiator or the creator of one set of rare medals “Integral<br />
Eminescu” in the Museum of History (Romania), in the Memorial<br />
House (Ipoteşti). The ex-presi<strong>de</strong>nt of Romania Ion Iliescu, the<br />
amb assadors o f fo reign c oun tries in Mo ld ov a, many in stitu tion s<br />
and private people bec ame the owners of these values.<br />
In the “Calendarul Naţional 2005” it is mentioned: 55 years since<br />
the birth of <strong>Iulius</strong> Popa, a journalist and bibliophile April 30,<br />
1950).<br />
The present bibliographic al work (the first one of the<br />
collection “Bălţi Un iv ersity Writers ”) do es no t tend to <strong>de</strong>sc rib e<br />
<strong>Iulius</strong> Popa entirely, it enriches the rea<strong>de</strong>r’s knowledge about our<br />
contemporary, who by the age of 55 had managed to do more<br />
things than any man has ever done in a c entury.<br />
“It is wrong to affirm that people are the constituting<br />
element of a nation, not the soul, but the people who leave<br />
in<strong>de</strong>lib le traces during their lives, they leave works that the<br />
History of Civilisation can glorify, the people who being either<br />
triumphant or vanquished strived for an i<strong>de</strong>a…” Ion Ghica). The<br />
above statement can be attributed to <strong>Iulius</strong> Popa. Of his own<br />
