Klettern – in Weltklasse
Mittendrin zwischen Bohusläns Klippen
liegt Lysekil und hier gibt es einige der besten
Kletterplätze der Welt. Der Bohusgranit
ist schon seit mehreren Jahrhunderten bekannt
für seine ungewöhnlich hohe Qualität
und bietet Klettermöglichkeiten für alle.
Lysekil schmecken
Lysekil ist buchstäblich gesprochen eine
fantastische Speisekammer, gefüllt mit
Fisch und Schalentieren. Wir können damit
werben, dass unsere Schalentiere das
ganze Jahr über Weltklasse sind, aber im
Herbst sind sie noch besser in Geschmack
und Qualität. Da sollten Sie die Gelegenheit
nutzen und hierher kommen, um
Krabben, Meereskrebse, Hummer, Muscheln
und Austern zu essen und die
Abenddämmerung mit guten Weinen bei
Kerzenschein zu genießen.
Tradition
Lysekil ist die jüngste Stadt in Bohuslän,
aber das Fischerdorf Lysekil gab es schon
lange. Erst im Jahr 1903 wurde Lysekil von
König Oscar II zur Stadt ernannt. In der
Mitte des 19.Jahrhunderts baute Professor
Carl Curman das Kaltbadehaus, das immer
noch häufig benutzt wird. Das Paar Carl
und Calla Curman baute auch die V illen
im altnordischen Stil, die sogen annten
”C urmanska Villorna”, die heute noch
Lysekil schmücken. Neben der Herings-
fischerei, welche die Hauptursache für
den Wohlstand in der Gegend war, wurde
auch umfassend Steinbruch in Lysekil
betrie ben. Ganz draußen an der Landzunge
im Südwesten liegt ”Stångehuvud”.
Hier lagen die ältesten Steinbrüche in der
Um gebung. Um die Jahrhundertwende
w urde Lysekil Hauptort für die Zubereitung
von Sardellen und die Konservenindustrie
wurde zu einem wichtigen Gewerbe
in der Stadt. Parallel mit dieser Industrie
wuchs L ysekils Motorenwerk (das Skandiawerk)
h eran und wurde die größte Fabrik
für die Herstellung von Bootsmotoren im
Norden. Für den, der an Tradition interessiert
ist und Geschichte erleben will, gibt
es Möglichkeiten, alle genannten Gebiete,
Gebäude und Betriebe zu besichtigen und
zu erleben. Außerdem gibt es ein großes
Angebot an anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Es muss nicht immer Sommer mit
leichten Wellen, Sonne und Bad sein. Ein
älterer Fischer in Lysekil hat oft gesagt:
”Wenn einem der Wind ins Gesicht
peitscht wie Hagel, erst da weiß man,
dass man lebt!”
An einem Oktobertag, an dem der Wind
mit 15 Metern pro Sekunde bläst und
man im ersten Morgenlicht hinausfährt
um Hummerreusen aus dem Wasser zu
ziehen, ist es leicht zu verstehen, was
er meinte. Der Wind peitscht die Gischt
auf die kleinen Schären und beim Einholen
der Reusen wird man mit Wasser
durchtränkt. Nicht zu vergessen ist das
euphorische Gefühl genau in dem Augenblick,
in dem die Reuse die Wasseroberfläche
durchbricht und man sieht,
dass sich zwei große Hummer darin
befinden. Das tut zwar im Gesicht weh,
ist aber gut für die Seele. Das Meer grollt
und die Natur ist unbeschreiblich nahe.

there are some large high street shops to
be found in Lysekil it is the smaller, boutiques
that are open all year round and
always offer good service and a wide variety
of products that characterise the best
of shopping in Lysekil. There is a lot of fun
and many activities to be found, but it is
first and foremost the restaurants, the intimate
pubs and the smaller activity centres
with their competent and a pproachable
staff that you will remember. They offer
experiences that are second to none. In
Lysekil you are the person who will decide
what you are going to do. Whether
you want peace and quiet, or you want
to climb, shop, party, go for walks in the
forest, listen to the sea, dive, eat shellfish,
sail, go to the cinema, go on a seal-safari,
swim or have a look at the rock carvings
you can do so. And most of this and much
more is often just within walking distance
when you visit Lysekil.

In Lysekil you can experience swimming
in the sea and fun activities, good food
and lodgings for all tastes. We offer you

Havets Hus [the house of the sea] tells
you of the local sea life showing everything
from sharks to sea-cucumbers. The
children’s favourites are the petting aquarium,
the hungry wolffish and the playroom
Ålgräsängen [the eelgrass meadow].
At Nordens Ark you can see around eighty
species that thrive in our climate. You can
see everything from the Siberian tiger to
the great grey owl. Here the children love
to see the big cats being fed and a definite
favourite is the hay-jumping.
There are many wonderful swimming
areas in and around Lysekil and for those
who would like to bathe indoors, you can
go to Gullmarsborg’s swimming pool. At
Röe Gård you find countryside idyll with
a child friendly environment. There is a
playground and lots of animals on the
farm during the summer. If you would
like to sail Lysekil’s beautiful archipelago
you can use regular passenger transport
opportunities or various boat trips.

Kayaking – all throughout the year
The area round Lysekil is deemed the
best water for kayaking in Sweden – well
perhaps one of the best and most unique
world wide. It is unusual to find an archipelago,
which is so easily accessible as the
coast of Bohuslän.
Sailing – for the leisure sailor
and for professionals
Sailing has always been and still is associated
with the coast of Bohuslän and with
Lysekil. Many people enjoy the freedom
of sailing out in their own or hired leis ure
boats. Lysekil also organises the L ysekil
Women’s Match which is the world’s largest
competition for ladies match racing in
sailing.
Diving – in the unique threshold
fjord of Sweden
Experience diving in Gullmarsfjorden,
which with its 25 km length and a width
of 1–3 km is the largest of the fjords in
B ohuslän and a genuine threshold fjord.
The largest depth of approx. 125 m. can be
found 10 km from the estuary, while the
depth at the threshold is a pprox. 45 m.
