Protecting your capabilities the choice is easy
The GIRAFFE AMB mobile Air Surveillance Radar and GBAD command post is in service in Sweden (UndE23) and
other countries. It was recently contracted to the Estonian Air Defence.
The newest development of the system includes a 360 o rocket artillery mortar (RAM) capability, making
GIRAFFE AMB the first Multi-Mission-Radar.
The new RAM capability is designed to support camp/base protection against the asymmetric threat of mortar,
rocket and artillery attacks while at the same time providing an air picture for airspace management and GBAD
control. The GIRAFFE AMB RAM capability provides data to initiate counter fire, impact warning and cue an
interceptor system. It will also provide recorded evidence of incidents.
