MUTAGANE INFLUENCE ON ANTIBIOTICAL ACTIVITY
OF STREPTOMYCES NOGALATER IMET43360 – PRODUCER
OF ANTICANCER ANTIBIOTIC NOGALAMYCIN

Variability of antibiotical activity of S. nogalater IMET43360 culture at
the different complete medias have been studied. The highest level of antibiotics
production was shown to be on the soybean media. Influence of UV irradiation
and N-methyl-N’-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine on the surviving and antibiotical
activity of S. nogalater IMET43360 strain. The optimal conditions for S. nogalater
IMET43360 mutants screening are UV irradiation during 90 and 100 seconds
with percentage of surviving 1,2 and 0,4% of spores. For NG such doses
are 5–10 mg and incubation during 20–30 minutes with percentage of surviving
from 14,5 to 44% of spores. It was proved that UV irradiation during 90 seconds
is the most effective way of mutants with increased level of nogalamycin production
obtaining. N-methyl-N’-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine can be used for
screening of mutants with altered synthesis of antibiotic.
