Biotechnicon is founded in 1997 in Split, Croatia. After the initiative phase in regional
project management in food sector and agribusiness, it has grown to a control and
product certification body on an national level. Since 2004 it has been authorized as
inspection body for organic agriculture and production (HRN EN ISO/IEC 17020 standard),
later as product certification body in organic production, and since 2006 as product
certification body for foodstuff and agricultural products signed with designation of
origin and geographical indication (PDO/PGI).
Biotechnicon is the only accredited product certification body in both scopes of accreditation
according to the HRN EN 45011 standard in Croatia and the region. Biotechnicon
employs team of highly educated professionals, additionally trained for control and
certification activities, with active cooperation through year-long membership in international
associations IFOAM and OriGIn. Since 2004 Biotechnicon’s quality management
system is certified according to HRN EN ISO 9001. Unique competitive service fees,
relevance and competence in areas that deal with foreign currencies, are for the further
business development and cooperation.
