Centar za vozila Hrvatske d.d. was established in 1971. Centar za vozila Hrvatske d.d.
performs services of organization and conducting vehicle technical inspection, organization
of vehicle registration, vehicle testing and homologation in technical inspection
stations, all based on the regulations on road traffic safety. Centar za vozila Hrvatske
d.d. was established as an expert organization in the area of road vehicles, and, as
the organization vested with public authority, it monitors the work of competent state
bodies, and provides assistance to other operators in the vehicle area. Centar za vozila
Hrvatske d.d. monitors a unique system of technical inspections which includes all technical
inspection stations in Croatia. As a part of its activities, Centar za vozila Hrvatske
d.d. trains the employees of technical inspection stations, conducts assessment of their
knowledge, calibrates equipment and devices in the technical inspection stations, introduces
new technologies in the procedure of vehicle technical inspections, etc.
AUTHORIZATIONS:
STATE OFFICE FOR METROLOGY
- Testing of regulatory compliance of measuring instruments, verification of legal
measuring instruments, keeping record of verified legal measuring instruments and
conducting official measurements on: devices with rollers for measuring the breaking
force on the wheel’s rim in motor vehicles and drawn vehicles; analyzers of exhaust
gasses from Otto and Diesel engines in road vehicles, work standards and measures
of exhaust gasses characteristics from engines in road vehicles; air gauges and tire
pressure gauges
- Testing of regulatory compliance of motor and drawn vehicles in terms of installation
of devices for lighting and light signalization; Testing of regulatory compliance
of motor vehicles in terms of installation of rear-view mirrors; Testing of regulatory
compliance of drawn vehicles in terms of breaking; Testing of regulatory compliance
in terms of installation and sound signal of the siren; Testing of regulatory compliance
of vehicles in terms of the speedometer and its installation; Testing of regulatory
compliance of motor vehicles in terms of noise; Testing of regulatory compliance of
motor vehicles in terms of installation of protection from underrun crashes and side
protection; Testing of regulatory compliance of motor vehicles in terms of construction
properties.

- Testing laboratory - Homologation tests of installation of devices for displaying
speed, the sound warning device and devices for lighting and light signalling for vehicles
in categories M, N, O and L
- Calibration laboratory - Calibrating the measures of pressure, calibrating the measures
of the braking force on the rim of the wheel of road vehicles, calibrating measures
for measuring chemical composition of exhaust gasses from road vehicle
engines with an external ignition source, calibrating measures for measuring the
blackening of exhaust gasses of road vehicle engines with compression ignition,
measuring of work standards of exhaust gas blackening, calibrating devices for calibrating
regloscopes and calibrating regloscopes
- Inspection body - Regular, periodical and special examinations of road vehicles, and
periodical technical examinations of brakes on road vehicles
