Zavod za ispitivanje kvalitete d.o.o. (ZIK) is the oldest Croatian company which exclusively
provides services of quality control and safety of goods, products and services.
ZIK was founded in 1957 in Zagreb, on the basis of a decision issued by the Town Assembly.
The founding document has ten articles, which set the basic tasks and working
methods.The first article “founds Zavod za ispitivanje kvalitete as an institution with
independent financing” whose “task is to assess the quality of goods, provide expert
opinion and certifies the quality”.What has been said above describes best the work of
the company for over 50 years. ZIK is a private company in 100% Croatian ownership
and is accredited in accordance with the HR EN ISO/IEC 17020, HR EN ISO/IEC 17025
and HR EN 45011, with the mission of “an independent and respectable company, in
the field of quality and safety enhancement”. ZIK, with its 120 employees and the widest
array of services, has organizational units in Zagreb, Rijeka, Sisak, Solin, Ploče and
Zadar, and it is a majority owner in three firms (Osijek, Split and Mostar).
AUTHORIZATIONS:
STATE OFFICE FOR METROLOGY
- Certification and compliance assessment with the metrology rules used in testing
electrical installations, and keeping a record of attested measures
- Authorization for inspecting, repairing and testing, for preparation of verification, measurements
of grains and oilseeds wetness - hygrometers
- Testing measures compliance to the rules, verification of legal measures, keeping a
record of verified legal measurements and implementing official measurements on
measure systems on fuel tanks, on measure systems on milk tanks and other media
in the food industry, on measure systems on car tanks, tank-cars, or tanks on ships,
on flow measures of volume, on cylindrical vertical tanks through the method of optical
triangulation and zone method, and on cylindrical horizontal tanks
AGENCY FOR EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERE HAZARDOUS AREAS
- Anti-explosion protection of S-products-Installing-TN-IN
MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, PHYSICAL PLANNING AND CON-
STRUCTION
- Providing expert services of environmental protection (suggesting of measures for
groups of products; drafting studies on product compliance with the measures in the
procedure of awarding the environment protection sign; creating a basic categorization
of garbage for disposal according a special rule on the manner and conditions of
waste disposal, categories and conditions of work for a waste-disposal site)
- Performing activities of tracking emissions into the air from stationary sources
MINISTRY OF ECONOMY, LABOUR AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
- Authorization for inspecting operating elevators in terms of the following procedures:
inspection for improving elevator safety; sudden inspection; regular elevators inspection;
inspection and agreement on the documentation for use and maintenance of
elevators; grading and agreement to the maintainer of elevators
- Implementing the procedures of conformity assessment of new elevators in accordance
to:
- Addendum V section B of the Rulebook, Inspection of elevator types (module) B
- Addendum VI of the Rulebook, Final inspection
- Addendum X of the Rulebook, Individual verification (module) G
- Performing work safety services; danger evaluation; training workers to work safely;
testing potentially dangerous machines and devices; testing in the work environment;
testing of physical factors, testing of chemical factors

- Performing activities of private protection - technical protection
- Performing services of testing the integrity of stable fire fighting and fire alarm installations
- Performing services of testing the integrity of flammable gases and fumes detection
systems
- Performing services of testing the integrity and suitability of imported fire-alerting
centrals, automatic and hand fire alarms, and alarm sound sources
