Zavod (institute) started working in 1965, under the name Zavod za zaštitu pri radu Zagreb
(Institute for workplace safety Zagreb). Since 1 July 1981, the Company bears the name
Zavod za unapređivanje sigurnosti, and it was turned into a public limited company on
3 June 1993. Zavod performs different services in workplace safety, fire protection and
environmental protection. An accredited testing laboratory is a part of Zavod, measuring
emissions into the air from stationary sources and acoustic measurements. An accredited
inspection department deals with inspecting new elevators and operating elevators.
The company is 100% privately owned - small shareholders. Services are provided for
clients from a wide field of activities, from construction, trade, medicine, utility services,
etc. Zavod za unapređivanje sigurnosti d.d. Osijek has a certified management system in
accordance to the HRN EN ISO 9001.
AUTHORIZATIONS:
MINISTRY OF ECONOMY, LABOUR AND ENTRENEURSHIP - Evaluating danger;
training workers to work safely; testing of potentially dangerous machines and devices;
tests conducted in the work environment (testing of physical factors; testing of chemical
factors)

- Training of persons who handle and transport hazardous materials, excluding the training
of drivers for transporting radioactive materials

drafting a health and safety report; expert services for the needs of the Environment
pollution registry
- Expert services of environmental protection - creating a technical-technological decision
on a plant for integrated environmental protection
- Implementing energy inspections of residential and non-residential buildings through
a simple technical system and certification of residential and non-residential buildings

- Drafting of specific studies and reports for the needs of environmental components
- Drafting the budget and projections for the needs of environmental components and
reports on policy and measures implementation
- Drafting and verification of reports and specific studies on emissions into the environment

- Expert services of noise protection for acoustic measurements (measuring noise levels
and measuring sound isolation)
- Expert services of noise protection (planning i.e. predicting the noise level; creating
noise maps and action plans; creating professional solutions regarding noise protection

evaluation of noise impact on the environment)
