Talim-ul-Islam College Old Students
Canada set a Milestone
They took a late start, but have surpassed all others. On 3rd of
November 2012 the newly formed Talim-ul-Islam College old
students association Canada organized a fund-raising dinner to
finance poor students in Pakistan. The idea was initiated by the
old students association in Germany, who in Hazur’s words are the
“Poineer” in organizing themselves in such a manner, but the
financial contribution they started making for the scholarship fund
has been relatively meager.
It has been reported that they collected well over 16,000 Dollars in one evening and
have presented to Hazur for scholarships to the deserving students in Pakistan. May
Allah reward them for this sacrifice.
Even though everyone of those who have made monetary contribution for this noble
cause, deserves appreciation and gratitude from all of us, but the much of the credit goes
to the executive committee, especially to its finance secretary Sajjad Ahmad Malik, who
told me in our very first brief meeting we had in Canada that he was determined to beat
Germany in respect of scholarships. But we feel neither defeated nor jealous, but are
satisfied and encouraged. After all they are our brothers. We certainly envy and wish to
be equal to them. It is a matter of pride for a teacher to see the ones who he helped,
achieve heights of glory are flying ever higher. Let us hope and pray that this spirit of the
Canadian old students shall continue in years to come.
