A Taste of the Past:
Those who have been reading Al-Manar of the T. I. College Old Students Association
Germany, must have noticed that we have been including one or two pages from the
magazines you used to read in the days of your studenthood.
This continues in this issue. Such Articles not only remind you of youth, your classmates
and contemporaries, but also give us an idea of the intellectual level of the students of
the college in those days. Unfortunately we do not have access to many of the old issues.
We shall be grateful if friends, who are in possession of the past issues of Al-Manar,
could get us their copies. We have also inserted some relevant old group photos in
some articles, but we do not have many. I repeat my request to friends to help me
provide group photos of the past, if they are in possession of any. This is how we can
keep memories of our beloved institution fresh.
German Section of Al-Manar:
In compliance with the wish of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih-ul-Khamis (Ayyadahullaho
Taala), to encourage our children to join T. I. College Old Students Association and to add
a German Section to Al-Manar, I have been trying to persuade our children to join us.
Even though I am not satisfied with the response, but it is not a complete
disappointment. At least sixteen of our boys have taken the membership and paid the
membership contribution. Some of them have also started writing for Al-Manar. Dr.
Umair Ahmad Bajwa, son of Mr. Munawar Ahmad Bajwa contributed in one of the last
issues of the magazine and Omar and Usman Mirza wrote on their father, late Mirza
Mahmood Ahmad in the last issue. In this issue Miss Munnazza Aqil Khan, daughter of
our brother Muhammad Aqil Khan has written on the existence of God and my own
daughter Mrs. Areeba Dogar has written on Reaction of Muslims of blasphemous
publications of some anti-Islam elements of the West. Areeba’s article is based on the
Friday sermon delivered by Hazrat Amirul Momineen Khalifatul Masih-ul-Khamis
(Ayyadahullaho Taala). I hope we shall receive more co-operations like this from our
other children in future.
