New standards for durability, fuel-efficiency and low emissions
OXE diesel outboard engine
Cimco Marine, the manufacturer
behind OXE – the world’s first
high power diesel outboard – will
further extend the availability of
the outboard engine. Exalto Emirates
has been appointed to expand beyond
its current territories as the Middle
East distributor of the OXE.
The OXE diesel outboard fulfills the
NATO “single-fuel” directive and is
an ideal solution for naval, military, oil
and gas application.
Cimco Marine AB has developed
the OXE diesel, a self-contained
belt propulsor Unit (S-BPU). The
OXE is based on a commercial
automotive diesel engine and the
unique patented BPU technology
which enables high torque transfer
to the propeller. The belt drive
eliminates bevel gears and vertical
shafts allowing for a streamlined
housing below the waterline
giving less drag.

The common rail turbocharged
diesel engine provides high efficiency
and torque.
Extended range
The reduction in fuel consumption and
the hydrodynamically optimised lower
housing significantly increases range,
allows for extended operational time
between refueling and considerably
reduces fuel costs.
Better emissions
The use of highly refined automotive
based engine technology provides for
industry leading emission levels. The
emission levels comply with: TIER 3,
IMO, RCD, EPA.
High endurance
The OXE Diesel engine is designed
to last. Longer service intervals mean
lower maintenance costs and longer
operation times. Longer TBO (To be
overhanded) times means life cycle
costs are kept at a minimum.
Safety
Diesel is a less flammable fuel
and therefore safer to work within
hazardous environments. Robust
design and crash stop capability leads
to safe operation in fierce conditions.
Low maintenance
Easily accessible service points and a
modular design create a user friendly
environment. The reliable and readily
available automotive powerhead
keeps costs of maintenance and spare
parts low. The modular design gives
the user opportunity to change parts
and maintain the outboard, without
having to replace the complete unit.
Exalto Emirates was founded in
1994 in the United Arab Emirates, as
a supplier of propellers and stern gear
to the local dhow building industry.
Throughout the years the company
expanded into the field of specialized
trading in marine equipment. Many

2015, and is now expanding its OXE
distribution into Saudi Arabia.
