My view of the future
Living in the modern world and keeping up with new inventions is almost impossible right now. The
fast-paced evolution of technology and science keeps breaking the records of our ancestors and if you
fall out of its flow, it is hard to catch up (e.g., the difference between some developed and undeveloped
countries keeps getting bigger, faster). In the past, it was easier for me to say how I think the world
would be like. Nowadays, I cannot really make a clear picture of it, except for the near future. I hardly
imagine the world 10 years from now, but I will try to give my opinion of the future anyway, or more
likely, my hopes and wishes how the future should look like.In the first place there is, of course, the
environment. Something needs to happen to hasten our anti-pollution and environmentally friendly
movements and I hope for big projects and agendas.
The current situation is bad, really bad and something must happen soon! But I don't mean it is getting
worse by year, just that it is too slow in improving. We will already have electric cars and transport
in the near future, so I imagine the future world being full of these. Moving from the Earth to other
planets, I believe that by the 2040, we will have already visited Mars and the moon, and that travelling
to space will be available for public. By then we will have also started researching the travel to the
mysterious moons of Jupiter in search of water! However, it is still possible that my prediction is way
off. The changes might be even more extreme. Nobody knows what will happen in the future therefore
worrying about it will not do you any good.
Actually, do we even have time to worry? We are constantly hurrying around and we take less time for
ourselves in the age of information overload, so one last thing that needs to be done in the future is to
adapt our mind set to it. We should not need to worry about sudden changes every day, we should not
worry so much about the future. All we can and should do is simply live…
