Having a group of young men, ranging
from athletes, musicians and student
council representatives, come together
and learn in a classroom was quite the
spectacle. The diverse upbringing of each
individual never mattered, as we formed
an undying bond from the get-go. As
tense as the atmosphere was each time
we were served a distasteful dish of tests
and assessments, the wild and ambitious
side of us never faded. We were young,
free, and still growing both physically and
mentally. Being rational and sensible was
still a foreign concept to most of us, allowing
us to leave behind a trail of footsteps
that will forever be detailed and
engraved in our minds. It was uncanny for
a class to be together as one since the
majority of students our age had already
cultivated a competitive mindset - be it
in terms of academics or other qualifications,
it was a race, and whoever came
first would most definitely succeed.
While parents would supervise you at all
times, so as to ensure that you don’t take
the wrong step, similarly, our teachers
were by our side all along, monitoring our
each and every move. History portrayed
teachers as intimidating and threatening
figures, constantly enforcing discipline
in the classroom; yet in this day and
age, the relationship between teachers
and students has taken quite the turn.
Through regular conversation and the
exchange of innovative ideas, our teachers
gave us more than just conceptual
knowledge, but also guidance to life and
invaluable lessons beyond the textbook.
It was infinitely more engaging than
unidirectional forms of teaching, giving
us numerous opportunities to display our
creativity and critical thinking. However,
departure was most certainly inevitable
in our last three years of secondary
school - unfortunately, we’ve had a few
of our teachers come and go. It was
despairing, to say the least, but we were
aware that more challenges awaited and
this was only one of the many challenges
we were bound to face.
Graduation came with a lot of anticipation,
and, as expected, feelings of
fright. All these years, immersed in our
little bubble, trapped in a glass case with
minimum exposure to the gruesome
reality, we feared what the future had
in store for us. The concept of ‘the end’
used to be a laughing matter but as it
drew closer and closer, it almost became
surreal. In a blink of an eye, our naive
little minds were pierced through by the
daunting arrival of our mock exams;

soon, it was time for us to take study
leave. Nostalgia emerged and dawned on
us, gradually peeling off the dark blue and
black armour piece by piece, revealing the
fragility behind the seemingly confident
and arrogant masculinity of the average
teenage boy. As emotionally straining
as it was to depart from the desks that
served as palettes for numerous tests,
the chairs that forced us to contain
the zest of our teenagerhood, and the
teachers that so dearly cared for our
well-being. The time had come and the
real challenge was just around the corner.
It was a moment of realization: a tough,
unrelentingly excruciating moment.
It’s all blue skies and sunny days after
our big day but there’s certainly something
that remains tingling. A stinging
and lingering sensation as if there was a
thread loose inside your wool garment,
constantly annoying you and disrupting
your mundane activities. Something you
can’t exactly shake off or forget about
as it reminds you of the blue and black
armour you had previously worn.
IB result 2019
For our International Baccalaureate Program, our School has
six “Perfect Scorers” with 45 marks and three students scoring
44 marks this year.
The “Perfect Scorers” are Lucas Lau, Obile Wong, Geshi Yeung,
Elkie Chan, Jacky Chan and Zhu Hong-yi. Each of them scored
the highest mark of 45 in all their IB subjects! Hong-yi and
Lucas are going to study medical doctor. Geshi will study
Neuropsychology in Pennysylvania University. Obile is passionate
about English Literature and planned to study a double degree
of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws at the University
of Hong Kong.
Congratulations to our Perfect Scorers for their unrelenting
hard work and brilliant results and thanks to our IB Coordinator
and the teachers for their support and assistance
throughout the years!

送 給 師 弟 們 的 心 底 話
「 畢 業 晚 宴 」 是 我 作 為 一 個 拔 萃 學 生 出 席
的 最 後 一 個 拔 萃 男 書 院 的 活 動 , 心 中 只 有
不 捨 之 情 ……
回 想 這 六 年 在 拔 萃 的 美 好 時 光 。 第 一 天 走
進 班 房 時 的 情 形 仍 是 歷 歷 在 目 。 這 六 年 轉
瞬 即 逝 , 真 是 太 短 , 太 短 。 現 在 回 想 真 有
點 後 悔 , 當 時 每 天 在 生 活 在 拔 萃 當 中 , 卻
並 沒 有 好 好 珍 惜 每 一 段 時 光 …… 有 時 上 學
也 有 會 覺 得 沉 悶 , 無 聊 , 有 點 兒 不 知 所
以 。 甚 至 偶 爾 會 討 厭 上 學 。 但 到 現 在 ,
同 學 們 各 自 考 進 心 儀 的 大 學 , 我 們 的 前 面
是 充 滿 未 知 之 數 , 你 就 更 加 覺 得 , 我 們 這
六 年 , 在 拔 萃 的 庇 護 下 是 多 麽 幸 福 , 就 像
襁 褓 的 孩 童 在 母 親 溫 暖 的 懷 抱 。 「 六 年 」
說 長 不 長 , 說 短 不 短 ,「 六 年 」 可 能 在 一
個 孩 子 來 說 是 長 , 但 在 人 生 來 說 , 六 年 若
白 駒 過 隙 。 我 在 拔 萃 的 歲 月 中 最 深 刻 , 最
值 得 懷 念 的 事 , 就 是 我 在 中 四 那 一 年 當 了
欖 球 隊 的 隊 長 , 與 眾 師 兄 帶 領 欖 球 隊 取 得
「 全 港 欖 球 精 英 賽 」 的 冠 軍 。 這 是 我 們 隊
史 中 的 第 一 個 精 英 賽 冠 軍 。 取 得 勝 利 當 然
是 很 高 興 , 我 們 付 出 努 力 而 得 到 肯 定 。 回
想 當 時 , 我 在 全 隊 AGrade 中 年 紀 最 小 , 中
五 和 中 六 的 師 兄 對 我 們 的 教 導 是 那 麼 週 到
和 無 私 , 我 們 一 起 努 力 , 奮 鬥 。 那 時 , 我
們 在 九 龍 區 比 賽 中 只 取 得 第 三 名 , 賽 後 ,
各 隊 員 哭 得 像 淚 人 , 因 在 這 一 年 我 們 陣 容
相 當 有 實 力 , 得 到 這 樣 的 結 果 , 我 們 實 在
感 到 十 分 失 望 和 難 過 。 幸 虧 , 在 這 比 賽 中
若 取 得 前 四 名 就 能 有 資 格 參 加 精 英 賽 , 於
是 , 我 們 決 心 苦 練 , 不 斷 艱 苦 的 訓 練 以 及
摘 冠 的 決 心 , 讓 我 們 真 的 成 就 這 一 次 「 冠
軍 」。 在 拔 萃 取 得 獎 項 當 然 是 很 重 要 , 但
最 重 要 的 不 是 結 果 而 是 在 過 程 。 當 然 , 作
為 一 個 拔 萃 仔 , 取 得 獎 項 , 就 是 與 生 俱 來
和 天 經 地 義 的 責 任 。 但 無 數 的 獎 盃 你 是 拿
不 走 的 ,「 過 程 」 的 體 會 , 美 麗 的 回 憶 ,
就 可 以 永 藏 心 底 , 永 留 腦 海 。 我 深 深 的 相
信 , 在 二 十 , 三 十 年 後 …… 拔 萃 師 兄 弟 們
聚 首 一 堂 , 談 的 就 是 這 些 青 蔥 歲 月 裏 美 麗
的 「 拔 萃 」 回 憶 。

在 此 , 我 要 送 給 各 位 師 弟 一 些 話 , 就 是 在
拔 萃 的 日 子 裏 , 請 你 們 好 好 珍 惜 這 裏 分 秒
的 時 光 。 你 們 現 在 可 能 不 明 白 , 拔 萃 給 你
們 的 , 遠 比 你 們 為 拔 萃 犧 牲 的 多 。 除 了
學 業 知 識 , 拔 萃 對 我 們 的 人 格 培 養 和 價 值
觀 , 這 些 都 可 以 影 響 你 們 的 一 生 , 而 令 我
們 終 生 受 用 。
今 年 是 我 們 150 週 年 的 校 慶 。 在 過 去 的 150
年 中 , 拔 萃 能 夠 成 功 , 就 是 因 為 拔 萃 精 神
的 傳 承 和 堅 持 。 我 們 要 謙 虛 , 不 要 高 傲 ,
因 為 世 界 真 的 很 大 , 若 你 登 上 這 個 山 峰
的 高 處 , 你 看 到 的 是 更 高 的 山 峰 。 只 有 努
力 不 懈 , 勇 於 承 擔 , 甘 於 犧 牲 的 「 拔 萃 精
神 」 就 能 陪 伴 我 們 勇 闖 人 生 的 道 路 。
最 後 , 衷 心 多 謝 我 最 敬 愛 的 鄭 校 長 , 各 位
副 校 長 , 親 愛 老 師 們 及 所 有 職 員 , 還 有 我
最 愛 的 「 大 佬 」。 沒 有 你 們 「 拔 萃 」 就 不
是 我 心 中 的 拔 萃 , 你 們 的 努 力 , 無 私 的 奉
獻 塑 造 了 拔 萃 這 個 無 微 不 至 的 家 。 這 個 家
永 遠 是 所 有 拔 萃 仔 的 家 。
公 開 試 佳 績
本 校 在 今 屆 文 憑 試 (DSE) 取 得 佳 績 , 其 中 狀 元 周 伯 儒 同 學 在 4 個 核
心 科 目 : 中 文 、 英 文 、 數 學 、 通 識 及 3 個 選 修 科 : 物 理 、 化 學 及 生
物 , 和 數 學 延 伸 部 分 M2 均 考 獲 5*, 成 為 8 科 5* 狀 元 。 他 現 屬 意 在
香 港 修 讀 醫 學 , 認 為 行 醫 可 以 用 雙 手 和 知 識 幫 人 , 稱 當 醫 生 能 將
其 理 想 和 興 趣 結 合 。
同 時 , 我 們 亦 恭 喜 朱 綽 希 同 學 、 李 泓 翰 同 學 、 方 鉦 喬 同 學 、 郭 展
軒 同 學 及 李 烱 熙 同 學 取 得 6 科 5** 的 優 異 成 績 。
其 他 努 力 應 試 的 同 學 , 你 們 的 努 力 不 懈 , 家 長 和 老 師 也 會 引 以 為
傲 ! 家 教 會 藉 此 感 謝 各 位 老 師 盡 心 盡 力 的 教 導 !
