NEW HORIZONS showcases the wealth of excit<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>novative, <strong>and</strong><br />

occasionally challeng<strong>in</strong>g choral music be<strong>in</strong>g written today. It encompasses the<br />

<strong>Gabriel</strong> <strong>Jackson</strong><br />

Born <strong>in</strong> Bermuda <strong>in</strong> 1962 <strong>and</strong> a prize-w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g student while at the Royal<br />

College of Music, <strong>Gabriel</strong> <strong>Jackson</strong> describes his music as ‘essentially<br />

contemplative’, a quality abundant <strong>in</strong> his choral works. <strong>Jackson</strong>’s highly<br />

<strong>in</strong>dividual voice is <strong>in</strong> dem<strong>and</strong> both here <strong>and</strong> further afield; his music has<br />

been commissioned <strong>and</strong> performed by a variety of lead<strong>in</strong>g ensembles<br />

<strong>and</strong> choirs, among them the BBC S<strong>in</strong>gers, The Netherl<strong>and</strong>s Chamber<br />

Choir, Capella Nova, <strong>and</strong> Chapelle du Roi, <strong>and</strong> regularly programmed at<br />
