A glorious past and an amazing present
Malaysia is one of the most important
tourist destinations among the Far
East countries. It classified as the ninth
country globally and the first country in
East Asia in this field. Tourism in Malaysia
is one of the key sources of government
revenues, with a total contribution of
7% per annum to the national income,
therefore, it was a great interest on the
part of State in this vital sector and to
devote efforts to expand and upgrade
its infrastructure, improve its elements
of prosperity and the development of
promotion mechanism internally and
externally. This trend encouraged the
State of Malaysian tourism frameworks
through the Ministry of Culture, Arts and
Tourism since 1987, where this sector
constituted an important tributary to
overcome the financial crisis that swept
the country in 2008.
Statistics of Tourists:
Since the mid-eighties of the last
century, tourism in Malaysia has become
a record that cannot be bypassed on the
economic, social and cultural level, the
number of tourists received by Malaysia
in 2014 was more than 27 million visitors
with an economic return of 7.99% of the
national income of the state. The tourists
coming from Singapore, Thailand,
Indonesia, China, the Sultanate of
Brunei, India, The Philippines, Australia,
Japan and England were the largest
number of tourists visiting Malaysia in
this period. Recently the provinces and
cities became favorite destinations for
tourists from Arab countries, particularly
from the Gulf countries after they
found in this evolving Islamic country
a comfortable place and hospitable
culture to spend the holidays with their
families compared to the countries of
Europe and the United States, after
smart marketing campaigns launched by
the government for tourism in Malaysia
through a wide range of websites that
have been created specifically for this
purpose.
Kuala Lumpur – the capital and known
as the gardens city, is one of the
most famous cities of Malaysia in the
field of tourism, where parks, rivers,
mountains, historical and cultural
heritage, in addition to its modern,
amazing buildings are always ready to
welcome its visitors. The two towers of
the Malaysian oil company (Petronas) in
Kuala Lumpur, which are located in the
center of the commercial area of the
city and one of the highest towers in the
world with height up to 452 meters. The
towers area includes a range of parks,
huge commercial centers and famous
restaurants. The bird park is one of the
most important tourist attractions in
Malaysia, and one of the largest parks in
Far East Asia. It has most of the known
bird species in the world, as well as an
industrial lake and vast green spaces.
Kuala Lumpur also includes a number
of Chinese commercial markets, the
National Museum, factory of souvenirs,
Palace of horses and other tourist
attractions and recreational sites.
Malaga is beyond your imagination.
Malaga comes as the second stage
after the Kuala Lumpur city in terms of
importance of tourism, in which this city
includes group of sites of archaeological
locations from the fifteenth century
and is one of the most historic cities in
Malaysia. In addition to the magnificent
sandy beaches such as the most famous,
Tanjung Beidara Beach beside the
Cultural Museum, sound and light shows,
Qamoza Fort, Dutch Castle, Trutkwerh
mosque and other sights and scenes
of tourists, the visitors really enjoy
beautiful weather.
Away from the capital Kuala Lumpur,
many tourist destinations that are worth
to visit are: the waterfront promenade
in Penang, with the famous Chinese
food; Alu Star the capital state of Kedah
with the cultivation of oaks; along with
Bahru the capital of Johor, Kangar, Kota
Kinabalu, Motta Bharu, Kuala Terengganu
which is famous for its beautiful beaches
and turtles, Petaling the city of satellite
and the scenic islands, Langkawi, Pangkor,
Redang, Kabas, Lang Tengah, Rantau
Abang Beach, Mabul, Tioman and Sipadan
where parks and natural reserves are worth
to be seen. In Malaysia, being a host of the
tourists includes modern monuments and
ancient archaeological sites in many other
cities. We find the city of Georgetown,
which is an attractive place for many
tourists, and the city of Shah Alam, the
capital of Selangor which is famous for
the mosque of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul
Aziz, and Shah blue-dome, which is the
largest dome of in the world, while the
city has many parks and lakes.
