and hard work comes together with a
clear vision, nothing can prevent selfrealization.
This is what all success
stories at private and general level are
narrated. We consider Head of Office of
Strategy Management (OSM) in ARASCO,
Eng. Abdulaziz Aldharrab deserved as
being inside these characteristics. In
spite of being humble when talking about
himself and his personal life details, his
professional career which is full of scientific
and vocational excellence confirms that
he realized from the beginning his way
towards the task he chose for himself.
Therefore, his aspirations (I Am ARASCO)
were in harmony with his capabilities.
Eng. Aldharrab was engaged and his
attention was drawn for this interview
that gathered the private and general
aspects and tackled some points of his
experience in the company in addition to
other miscellaneous interests. Interview
facts are as follows:-
Ana ARASCO: Where was Eng. Abdulaziz
Aldharrab born and where did he attend
his primary and secondary education?
Aldharrab: I was born and grew up in
Riyadh and I still live here with my family.
I am the second son in my family in terms
of age. Since the beginning, my parents
were keen to make me get distinguished
education, just like my brothers. Therefore,
I joined the primary school at an early
age. I started this educational stage
in Manarat Al-Riyadh primary schools.
During that stage, we were moving many
times between Riyadh and Geneva where
my father was working in International
Telecommunication Union (ITU). We were
spending large portion of our holidays
with our father in Switzerland.
Ana ARASCO: How have you been
affected by these multiple travels at this
early age?
Aldharrab: Certainly, this gave me a
factual chance to know other persons
because Geneva was and still is a place
where people throughout the world come
and meet together. This constituted a
fertile field to deal with different cultures
and to acquire ability to deal with people
in a civilized way and to respect cultures,
taking into account pride and complete
adherence to our Islamic culture and Arab
traditions. This experience is still having
positive impact on my life.
I am very interested
in following economic
and political news.
Ana ARASCO: Do you have any surviving
memories from the primary education?
Aldharrab: The most important fact that
had a great impact on my academic life
is that during my primary education, my
school nominated me along with others
to join King Abdulaziz & his Companions
Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity
due to my excellence in scientific
subjects, particularly in mathematics.
This was a unique experience at that
time and continued until beginning of the
secondary education. During that period,
we participated in many motivational
events and competitions that contributed
towards the excellence of all students
joining courses and lessons of this
foundation.
Ana ARASCO: End of secondary education
is deemed a crossroad for any student,
what options do you had to choose
your university path and how had these
affected your family in this respect?
Aldharrab: I remember that my graduation
degree in the secondary education was
extraordinary; therefore, I had several
chances to study abroad. However, I
preferred to join King Fahd University
of Petroleum & Minerals to study
engineering. Many of my family members
were graduated from this university which
was a source of aspiration for me and
praises thereto, therefore my desire to join
this university increased. After the first
preparatory year, I was confused about
the field I have to choose in the college.
I was wavering between Engineering and
Management. In spite of being excellent
in the engineering subjects, my interest
was Management and Finance. I sought
my father’s advice and guidance who
tried not to influence this decision in any
of the two fields. After that, my personal
