spielzeit’europa zeigt jährlich von Oktober bis Januar außergewöhnliche<br />
und hochkarätige Theater- und Tanzproduktionen<br />
im Haus der <strong>Berliner</strong> <strong>Festspiele</strong>. Als Initiator fördert<br />
die Programmreihe Produktionen renommierter Künstlerpersönlichkeiten<br />
wie Heiner Goebbels, Dimiter Gotscheff, Alvis<br />
Hermanis, Robert Lepage, Christoph Marthaler, Sidi Larbi<br />
Cherkaoui und vieler anderer und fungiert regelmäßig <strong>als</strong><br />
Produktionspartner so bedeutender Festiv<strong>als</strong> wie Salzburger<br />
<strong>Festspiele</strong>, Wiener Festwochen, Festival d’Avignon oder<br />
Edinburgh International Festival. Neben Uraufführungen und<br />
Koproduktionen sind exklusive Gastspiele zu erleben, die<br />
markante europäische Regie- und Choreografiehandschriften<br />
präsentieren. Diskussionen, Filme und Konzerte<br />
ergänzen das Programm auf der Bühne.<br />
Anlässlich des 20. Jahrestages des Mauerfalls machte<br />
spielzeit’europa der Stadt im Oktober 2009 mit dem<br />
»Wiedersehen von Berlin« ein ganz besonderes Geschenk.<br />
Das Open-Air-Theaterspektakel mit den zwei Riesenfiguren<br />
der französischen Straßentheater-Compagnie Royal de Luxe<br />
bewegte vier Tage lang zwei Millionen Menschen auf den<br />
Straßen und Plätzen der Hauptstadt und weckte enormes<br />
Medieninteresse: Bilder des poetischen Riesenmärchens<br />
gingen um die ganze Welt.<br />

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin<br />
Wall, spielzeit’europa presented the city with a very special<br />
gift: »The Berlin Reunion«. For four days, this open air theatrical<br />
spectacular by French street theatre company Royal de<br />
Luxe featuring two giant puppets moved two million people<br />
in the capital’s streets and squares and generated intense<br />
media interest: Images of this poetic fable about the Giants<br />
were seen all around the world.<br />
