Which documents do you need in order to apply to
university?
After being accepted by the faculty, you can apply for enrolment as a PhD
student. Enrolment for Phd-students is not obligatory but suggested. You
can be enrolled as a PhD-Student for a maximum of 3 years. The
following documents can be handed in personally in the
"Studentenkanzlei" or be sent by regular mail:

"Promotionsbescheinigung für ausländische Studierende"
In order to enrol, you need the confirmation from the faculty that
has admitted you to a PhD programme in Regensburg.
Forms can be downloaded from the Internet (address, see above)
Certificate proving completion of school and transcript of records of
your first degree programme (certified copy)
Certified copy of the translation of the school completion certificate
and the transcript of records of your first degree programme
(exception: English and French documents do not need to be
translated)
Proof of knowledge of German if you are writing your PhD thesis in
German. If you are permitted to use a different language, the thesis
language has to be stated on the "Promotionsbescheinigung".
Application deadlines are:
January 15 th , for the summer semester
July 15 th , for the winter semester
