Durch Großveranstaltungen wie der Fußball Weltmeisterschaft 2014
und den Olympischen spielen 2016 steht Brasilien in den nächsten
Jahren im Fokus der Weltöffentlichkeit. im Zentrum der Hansa-Flex
internen aufmerksamkeit steht das südamerikanische land schon lange,
denn Hansa-Flex Brasilien ist eine der am schnellsten wachsenden auslandsgesellschaften
der gesamten unternehmensgruppe. seit Februar 2013
betreiben unsere brasilianischen kollegen eine Werk-im-Werk-produktion
bei Masal s.a., einem der führenden anbieter von kranen, land- und Forstmaschinen
des landes.
Gegründet wurde Masal im Jahr 1953. Mit zwölf angestellten produzierte das Unternehmen
anfangs innovative Maschinen für die landwirtschaft. In den 1960er
Jahren wurden bei Masal die ersten Sämaschinen hergestellt. Im folgenden
Jahrzehnt erweiterten die Maschinenbauer ihr Portfolio um Getreidewagen, die
auch heute noch zu den hauptprodukten der Unternehmensgruppe zählen. 1982
wurde Masal von Claudio Bier übernommen. Unter seiner Führung erweiterte das
Unternehmen seine Produktpalette in den kommenden Jahren gezielt. heute betreibt
Masal in Brasilien ein flächendeckendes netz an vertriebsstandorten und
drei Produktionsstätten. Über 300 Mitarbeiter produzieren eine vielzahl von Produkten
in neun hauptkategorien. Diese reichen von Maschinen für die land- und
Forstwirtschaft über krane in 16 verschiedenen Größen- und leistungsgruppen
bis hin zu hubarbeitsbühnen. Bemerkenswert ist die tatsache, dass Masal sämtliche
arbeiten im eigenen werk durchführt. outsourcing findet nicht statt. Zum
kundenstamm gehören die größten Unternehmen des landes, wie zum Beispiel
der Stromversorger CeleSC oder der Mineralölkonzern Petrobas.

Der erste kontakt zwischen Masal und hanSa-FleX entstand im März 2012 auf der
internationalen leitmesse der rohrindustrie, der tube, in Düsseldorf. thiago vitola,
Ceo von Masal S.a., besuchte damals den hanSa-FleX Messestand und informierte
sich über die leistungen des Systemanbieters. Die Gespräche liefen vielversprechend,
und schon kurze Zeit später erhielten unsere kollegen in Brasilien die g
im produktionsstandort der Masal s.a. in santo antonio eröffnete Hansa-Flex im Februar
2013 eine Werk-im-Werk Fertigung.

as the host nation for major events such as the FiFa World cup in 2014
and the Olympic Games in 2016, Brazil will be the focus of much international
attention for the next several years. at Hansa-Flex, the
south american country has been a point of keen interest for a long time,
particularly since Hansa-Flex Brazil has emerged as one of the fastest growing
foreign subsidiaries in the Hansa-Flex group of companies. since February
2013, our Brazilian colleagues have been operating a plant-in-plant on
site for Masal s.a., one of the country’s leading manufacturers of cranes and
agricultural and forestry machinery.
Masal was founded in 1953. the company started with twelve employees, who
produced innovative farming machines. In the 1960s, Masal began building seed
drills. over the next decade, the machine builders added grain trailers to their
portfolio. these remain one of the corporation’s core product lines to this day.
Masal was acquired by Claudio Bier in 1982. Under his leadership, the company
developed its product range strategically for the coming years. today, Masal operates
a nationwide network of sales centres and three production sites throughout
Brazil. over 300 employees manufacture a broad range of products that are organised
into nine main categories. these categories encompass everything from
agriculture and forestry machines to cranes in 16 different size and performance
groups and elevating work platforms. the company’s customer base includes
some of the biggest enterprises in the country, such as electricity supplier CeleSC
and the petroleum giant Petrobras.

the first contact between Masal and hanSa-FleX took place in March 2012 at
tube, the world’s premier trade fair for the pipe and tube industry, in Düsseldorf.
It was there that thiago vitola, Ceo of Masal S.a., visited the hanSa-FleX stand
and learned about the services offered by the systems supplier. Initial discussions
were encouraging. Soon afterwards, Christian herrmann, the regional Manager
for hanSa-FleX Brazil, received the information about the trade fair contact from
the Marketing department in Bremen. a first invitation to visit the customer’s
site was scheduled for the end of april 2012. at this meeting, Christian herrmann
presented the full range of services offered by hanSa-FleX. the plant-in-plant
concept attracted great interest, and the options for implementing this idea at
the Masal production facility in Santo antonio were quickly explored in depth. But
before these negotiations could be put on a formal footing, we had to convince
the customer of the quality of our products. Shortly after the first face-to-face
meeting at the customer’s site, hanSa-FleX received an enquiry regarding the
supply of hydraulic lines for 16 machines. Christian herrmann prepared a bid and
hanSa-FleX delivered the first samples. “the quality of the hose lines, the speed
of the delivery, the price – in short, the whole package more than exceeded our
expectations”, recalls thiago vitola. there road was clear for developing a closer
business relationship. on 10 September 2012, Masal and hanSa-FleX signed the
contract for construction of the plant-in-plant, which began operations on 1 February
2013.
