1 Der Sonderstempel zeigt den Tödi, auf dem
Rudolf Theodor Simler 1861 die Idee zur Gründung
einer schweizerischen Bergsteigervereinigung
fand.
Schweizer Bergwelt in ihren Facetten.
Er verbindet Tradition und Moderne. e. Aufgeteilt
suddiviso diviso in
quattro segni di valore: «Montagne»
(0.85),
«Capanna di montagna» (1.90), «Escursionisti»
(1.40) e
«Alpinisti» (1.00).
1 The special cancellation shows the Tödi,
where Rudolf Theodor Simler had the idea of
founding a Swiss mountaineering club in 1861.
The highest Glarus summit had never before been
seen on a stamp, but it now featured on a special
cancellation.
2 The “150 years of Swiss Alpine Club SAC”
miniature sheet portrays the fascinating, varied
world of the Swiss mountains in all its different
facets. It combines tradition with modernity. The
miniature sheet is divided into four values “Mountains”
(0.85), “Mountain hut” (1.90), “Rambler”
(1.40) und “Climber” (1.00).
Eine Schweiz ohne Berge – undenkbar.
Eine Schweiz ohne SAC ebenfalls. Seit
seiner Gründung hinterlässt der Club
im Land Spuren. Auf Initiative von SAC-
Mitgliedern taufte der Bundesrat 1863
den höchsten Gipfel des Landes am
Monte Rosa zu Ehren des Generals und
Topografen Guillaume-Henri Dufour in
Dufourspitze (4634 m) um. Unermüdlich
kletterten die Clubisten auf bereits beund
noch viel mehr unbestiegene Gipfel,
beschrieben die Routen in Publikationen,
überzogen die Alpen mit einem Netz von
Hütten und Wegen, waren mitbeteiligt
am Führer- und Rettungswesen. Und sie
halfen entschieden mit bei der Arbeit
an der Landeskarte der Schweiz. Ohne
CAS. Depuis sa fondation, le CAS laisse
son empreinte sur le pays. A l’initiative
de membres du CAS, le Conseil fédéral
a rebaptisé en 1863 le plus haut sommet
du pays, dans le Mont Rose, Pointe
Dufour (4634 m), en hommage au
Général et topographe Guillaume-Henri
Dufour.
Impensabile.
Una Svizzera senza CAS? Idem. Sin dalla
sua fondazione, il CAS lascia il segno
in molti ambiti. Su iniziativa di soci del
CAS, nel 1863 il Consiglio federale ribattezza
la cima più alta della Confederazione,
nel massiccio del Monte Rosa,
con il nome di Punta Dufour (4634 m),
per rendere omaggio al generale e topografo
Guillaume-Henri Dufour. Instancabili,
collaborano in modo determinante alla
redazione della Carta nazionale della
Svizzera. Senza il CAS, il turismo nelle
Alpi non avrebbe conosciuto uno sviluppo
così fortunato; al contempo, il Club ha
vegliato affi nché ferrovie e funivie non
raggiungessero ogni vetta.
Just as Switzerland without mountains
is unthinkable, the same is true
of Switzerland without the SAC. Ever
since it was founded, the SAC has been
leaving its mark on the Alpine nation.
On the initiative of SAC members, the
Federal Council renamed Switzerland’s
highest summit in the Monte Rosa the
Dufourspitze (4634 m) in honour of
the topographer General Guillaume-
Henri Dufour. Club members tirelessly
climbed conquered summits as well
as many more that had never been
reached before, described routes in
publications, covered the Alps with a
network of huts and paths, were active
in the formation of guides and took part
in rescue operations. They also played
a key role in producing the Swiss National
Map. If it hadn’t been for the SAC,
mountain tourism would not have developed
to the same extent. At the same
time, the club made sure that not every
summit was connected by rail.
