carl Philipp emanuel bachs „kühne sprachlose Musik“ zwischen so genannter natürlichkeit,
kunstvoller Popularität und in harmonie oder Melodie ungewöhnlichen, extremen wendungen
sowie formalen Vertracktheiten lässt sich bei der Mozartwoche in einer auswahl grandioser
Kammermusik erleben, noch dazu im originalen Klanggewand: hille Perl und Florian birsak
spielen Sonaten für Viola da gamba und Klavier, anton Steck und Marieke Spaans solche für
Klavier und Violine, während christoph hammer den reichen Kosmos von carl Philipp emanuel
bachs Schaffen für Klavier solo erkundet – auf dem Instrument Mozarts. Von der zeitlosen
Qualität und Vorbildwirkung der werke des einflussreichen Kollegen war auch beethoven
überzeugt: Sie müssten „jedem wahren Künstler gewiß nicht allein zum hohen Genuß sondern
auch zum Studium dienen, und mein größtes Vergnügen ist es werke die ich nie – oder nur
selten gesehn, bey einigen wahren Kunstfreunden zu spielen.“ wenn schließlich Francesco
corti, thibault noally, herbert Lindsberger und Marcus Pouget gemeinsam werke von Mozart
interpretieren werden, kommen gleich drei originale Instrumente Mozarts zum einsatz:
Mozarts hammerklavier, seine Violine und seine Viola.

In the Mozart week, the “bold speechless music” of carl Philipp emanuel bach – a combination
of so-called “naturalness”, elaborate popularity, unaccustomed, extreme inflection of harmony
and melody, and formal complexity – can be heard in historical performance practice: hille
Perl and Florian birsak play sonatas for viola da gamba and keyboard, anton Steck and Marieke
Spaans sonatas for piano and violin, while christoph hammer explores the richly varied cosmos
of carl Philipp emanuel bach’s solo keyboard works – on Mozart’s own instrument. beethoven,
too, was convinced of the timeless quality and exemplary effect of his influential colleague: “of
emanuel bach’s clavier works I have only a few, yet they must be not only a real delight to
every true artist, but also serve him for study purposes; and it is for me a great pleasure to play
works that I have never seen, or seldom see, for real art lovers.” when Francesco corti, thibault
noally, herbert Lindsberger and Marcus Pouget come together to perform works by Mozart,
three original instruments will be heard: Mozart’s hammerklavier, his violin and his viola.
