Background
Research within the EUCOR-URGENT (Upper
Rhine Graben Evolution and NeoTectonics)
network is focused on the Rhine Graben
area and relies on a multi-disciplinary approach
to integrate geological, magmatic,
geophysical, geomorphologic, geodetic and
seismological data in an effort to assess the
societal impact of Environmental Earth System
Dynamics within the Rhine Graben area,
with special emphasis on seismic hazards,
neotectonics and water resource management.

Objectives of the workshop
The aim of this workshop is to present results
of research addressing issues pertaining to
the scope of the EUCOR-URGENT project.
It will provide a platform for interdisciplinary
collaboration and act as an interface
between basic and applied research. The
following issues will be addressed during
the workshop:
• Neotectonics and Seismic Hazard
• Modelling of Hydrosystems
• Structure and Evolution
• Dynamic Modelling
Conference format
The morning of the first day is devoted to
the introduction of the EUCOR-URGENT
project and to the review of the results obtained
so far. Four half-day blocks will be
devoted to address each of the four themes
listed above. The afternoon of the third day
Contributions
Although priority will be given to presentations
by members of the EUCOR-URGENT
network, a selected number of external contributions
will be accepted, provided that
the subjects focus on the larger Upper Rhine
Graben area and address one or several of
the topics mentioned above.

1 June Receipt of titles and list of contents
15 June Notice of acceptance
1 August Receipt of final abstracts
Registration and fees
Registration before July 1st:
Participation free of charge, lunch, coffee/
tea, abstract volume, icebreaker party and
excursion included.
Between July 1st and September 1st:
A registration fee of Sfr. 50.– will be perceived
to cover lunch, icebreakers party, coffee/tea
and abstract volume.
On-site registration:
Sfr. 30.– and only gives access to the lectures
(free for students).
