One of the largest competitive advantages of the POLYTEC
GROUP is the multitude of applied technologies under one
roof.
By using all the synergies within the POLYTEC GROUP it is
possible to offer the customer a wide range of services and
innovative solutions.
In the AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS
DIVISION, the largest division of
the POLYTEC GROUP, this gives
POLYTEC a special position visà-vis
its competitors. In the three
centres of excellence in Geretsried,
Lohne and Waldbröl, POLYTEC are
continually working on the development
of components and modules
for the interior, the engine
and the trunk compartments. The
use of various technologies such
as injection moulding in all variations,
inmould graining, leather
processing, textile injection moulding
or the production of trim
components – to name but a few
– allows a broad diversification
of the products. The take over of
the business operation of POLYTEC
INTEX was a further important
step in order to strengthen the position
as technology leader, since
above all the injection moulding
technology is seen as market leading
by the customer.
Most recently the use of this
technology and the production
of pillar covers and window trim
frames has been crucial for the
complete allocation of a greenhouse
(headliner, pillars and
window trim frames) and a door
panel to POLYTEC GROUP. The
development sovereignty for this
scope of work lies with the centres
of excellence in both Geretsried
and Waldbröl.
The Business Award for a headliner
and a door panel, which will
go into series production in 2008
and 2009, also reflect the effective
collaboration of the plants.
All plastic works for both projects
will be produced in the injection
moulding locations; however the
process steps and laminating
competence lie with the INTERIOR
plants of the AUTOMOTIVE
SYSTEMS DIVISION.
Current examples of series use,
which show the synergy effects,
are among others the door panels
for the BMW 3 Series and the
BMW X3.
The plastic components for both
projects are manufactured in the
injection moulding plants. For the
BMW 3 Series, the base carriers
and the basic parts are manufactured
in the INTERIOR-locations in
Nordhalben and Ebersdorf, which
are just 20 km apart from each
other. The final assembly and sequencing
takes place in Wackersdorf,
where the system which was
designed in-house is adjusted exactly
to the variant diversity and
the technical requirements of the
product.
The base carriers and components
for the BMW X3 come from the
INTERIOR-plant in Ebersdorf. The
final sequencing takes place in
cooperation on site of the customer,
in Graz.
In the future we will focus more
on the engine compartment seg-
ment, as the POLYTEC INTEX
produces both engine covers for
BMW – which until now were not
a customer of the AUTOMOTIVE
SYSTEMS DIVISION in this product
spectrum – and transmission oil
pans.

Durch die Nutzung aller Synergien innerhalb der POLYTEC
GROUP ist es möglich, dem Kunden ein breites Leistungsspektrum
und innovative Lösungen anzubieten.

Bei der AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS
DIVISION, der größten Division der
POLYTEC GROUP, ist dies eine Ausnahmestellung
gegenüber dem
Wettbewerb. In den drei Kompetenzzentren
Geretsried, Lohne
und Waldbröl wird kontinuierlich
an der Entwicklung von Komponenten
und Modulen für den
Innen-, Motor- und Kofferraum
gearbeitet. Die Anwendung der
verschiedenen Technologien wie
Spritzguss in allen Variationen,
Inmould Graining, Lederverarbeitung,
Textilhinterspritzen oder die
Herstellung von Trimmteilen – um
nur einige zu nennen - erlaubt
dabei eine breite Diversifizierung
der Produkte. Die Übernahme des
Geschäftsbetriebes der POLYTEC
INTEX war überdies ein weiterer
wichtiger Schritt, um die Position
als Technologieführer zu festigen,
da vor allem die Hinterspritztechnologie
vom Kunden als marktführend
angesehen wird.
Die Anwendung dieser Technologie
so wie die Fertigung von Säulen-
verkleidungen und Fensterrahmen
war nicht zuletzt ausschlagge-
bend für die Komplettvergabe
eines Greenhouse (Headliner,
Säulen und Fensterrahmen) und
einer Türverkleidung an POLYTEC
GROUP. Die Entwicklungshoheit
für diese Umfänge liegt in den
beiden Kompetenzzentren in
Geretsried und Waldbröl.
Auch die Beauftragung für einen
Dachhimmel und eine Türverkleidung,
welche 2008 und 2009 in
Serie gehen, spiegelt das effektive
Zusammenspiel der Kompetenzzentren
wider.
Die Kunststoffumfänge beider
Projekte werden in den Spritzgusswerken
produziert, die weiteren
Prozessschritte und die Kaschierkompetenz
aber liegen schließlich
bei den INTERIOR-Werken der
AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS DIVISION.
Aktuelle Beispiele für Serienanwendungen,
welche die Synergieeffekte
aufzeigen, sind u. a. die
Türverkleidungen für den BMW
3er und den BMW X3.
Die Kunststoffteile für beide Projekte
werden in den Spritzgusswerken
gefertigt. Für den BMW
3er erfolgt die Herstellung des
Grundträgers und der Basisteile in
den nur 20 km voneinander entfernt
liegenden INTERIOR-Werken
Nordhalben und Ebersdorf. Die
anschließende Komplettierung
und Sequenzierung findet in Wackersdorf
statt, wo die im eigenen
Haus konzipierte Anlage genau
auf die Variantenvielfalt und die
technischen Anforderungen des
Produktes abgestimmt ist.
Die Grundträger und die Komponenten
für den BMW X3 kommen
aus dem INTERIOR-Werk in Ebersdorf.
Sequenziert wird anschließend
in Kooperation lokal in Graz
am Standort des Kunden.
Doch auch im Motorraumbereich
wird man sich künftig noch stärker
aufstellen, da die POLYTEC
INTEX sowohl Motorabdeckungen
für BMW – welcher in diesem
Produktspektrum bis dato noch
kein Kunde der AUTOMOTIVE
SYSTEMS DIVISION war – als auch
Getriebeölwannen produziert.
