This year has a very special significance for the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol because in 2015 we are
celebrating our 30th anniversary. You’re more than welcome to come and join in the celebrations
and spend this period of very special festivities in our hotel. After all, it’s loyal guests like you who
have made this long-lasting success possible.
But in addition to our anniversary there are also numerous events for you to look forward to. Extraordinary
concerts, unique culinary events and exclusive spa treatments provide a wide ranging
programme. And there’s also the attraction of the glorious Tyrolean mountains with their green
meadows, extensive forests and high peaks which offer further activities. Explore the area on an
extended hiking tour or go for a drive in a cabriolet on the winding mountain passes.

Ob eine rasante Ausfahrt mit dem Cabrio oder einfach ein gemütlicher
Ausflug in die Region, das Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol bietet die
perfekte Ausgangslage für die schönsten Touren. Imposante Bauwerke,
unberührte Bergwelten und idyllische Täler können im wahrsten
Sinne des Wortes „erfahren“ werden.
Ein besonderes Highlight ist das Ice Q im Ötztal, nur 1,5 Fahrstunden
vom Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol entfernt. Das Glas-Restaurant thront so
spektakulär auf dem Berg, dass sogar Hollywood auf diese außergewöhnliche
Location aufmerksam wurde: Anfang des Jahres fanden
dort Dreharbeiten für den neuen James Bond Film „Spectre“ statt.
Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto führt durch das weitläufige Ötztal mit
seinen vielen grünen Wiesen und einem herrlichen Blick auf die
Ötztaler Alpen. Zum Ice Q auf über 3.000 Metern bringt Sie die
Gaislachkoglbahn.
Noch weitere 400 Meter höher liegt das Café 3440 am Pitztaler
Gletscher. Das höchstgelegene Café Österreichs ist eine architektonische
Meisterleistung, die sich harmonisch in die Landschaft einfügt.
Schon die Anfahrt ins malerische Pitztal bringt so manchen zum
Staunen, denn sie führt durch eines der wohl ursprünglichsten Täler
Tirols.

the footsteps of James Bond
Whether it’s an exhilarating drive in a cabriolet or simply a relaxing
tour of the local area, the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol offers the perfect
starting point for the most beautiful tours. Impressive buildings, unspoilt
mountains and idyllic valleys are there to be ‘experienced’ in
every sense.
A special highlight is the Ice Q in the Ötztal valley, just a 1½ hour
drive from the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol. The spectacular glass restaurant
sits so majestically on the mountain top that even the attention
of Hollywood has been drawn to this extraordinary location, filming
having taken place here at the beginning of the year for the new
James Bond film “Spectre”. The drive takes you through the extensive
Ötztal valley with its many green meadows and a marvellous view of
the Ötztal Alps. The Gaislachkoglbahn will take you up to the Ice Q
at more than 3,000 metres above sea level.
The Café 3440 is situated another 400 metres higher on the Pitztal
glacier. The highest-lying café in Austria is an architectural masterpiece
blending harmoniously into the landscape. The drive itself
along the picturesque Pitztal valley is really quite amazing, taking you
through one of the arguably most unspoilt valleys in Tyrol.

Nordic Walking: fit und aktiv
die Bergwelt entdecken
Mit einzigartigem Bergpanorama, frischer Gebirgsluft und der wohltuenden
Stille unberührter Natur ist die Gegend um das Interalpen-
Hotel Tyrol der ideale Ort für Nordic Walking. Eine Sportart, die
sowohl seelischen wie körperlichen Ausgleich bringt, die Ausdauer
verbessert und den Rücken stärkt. Alles, was Sie dafür brauchen, sind
Walking-Stöcke, passende Laufschuhe und atmungsaktive Sportbekleidung.
„Zur Vorbereitung sollten ein paar Lockerungsübungen
wie Kreisen der Gelenke oder Drehen von Schultern und Nacken
durchgeführt werden“, rät Fitness-Coach Thomas Bucher. Einsteigern
empfehlen wir die Route direkt vom Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol
zum Ferienheim Wildmoos, Fortgeschrittenen die Lottenseerunde.
Nordic Walking: explore the
mountains and keep fit
With a unique mountain panorama, fresh mountain air and the beneficial
peace and quiet of unspoilt nature, the area around the Inter alpen-
Hotel Tyrol is the ideal place for Nordic Walking. A sport which establishes
a sense of emotional and physical harmony, improves stamina and
strengthens the back. All you need are walking poles, suitable walking
shoes and breathable sportswear. Fitness coach Thomas Bucher advises,
“A few loosening up exercises such as rotating the joints or turning neck
and shoulders should be carried out before starting the walk”. We recommend
that beginners use the trail direct from the Interalpen-Hotel
Tyrol to the Wildmoos Holiday Home, advanced walkers should take
the Lottenseerunde (Lake Lottensee circuit).

The wide range of golf courses gives enthusiastic golfers plenty
to get excited about: in the immediate vicinity of the hotel there’s
the Seefeld-Wildmoos golf course whose challenging 18 holes
blend wonderfully into the Tyrolean landscape. The 27 holes of the
Mieminger Plateau Golfpark also offer an impressive panoramic view.
The 18-hole championship course and the 9-hole parkland course
set a sporting challenge but with the promise of complete enjoyment
of the game. In fine weather there are other golf courses to be
enjoyed in Seefeld, Wallgau and Innsbruck and, if the weather’s not so
good, our indoor golf facility gives you the chance to improve your
technique. We’ll be happy to arrange a professional for you.

Auf 1.300 m Höhe unterhält das Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol auch einen
eigenen Garten. Dort kümmert sich ein kleines Gärtner-Team um
den Anbau unterschiedlichster Kräuter und Blumen. Durch die starken
Temperaturschwankungen in dieser Höhe gestaltet sich die Aufzucht
der Pflanzen nicht immer ganz einfach. Um zu wissen, was in der Region
gut gedeiht, dienen die Anpflanzungen der einheimischen Hobbygärtner
oft als Orientierung. Diese Sommersaison liegt der Schwerpunkt
auf essbaren Blüten, beispielsweise von Lilien oder Rosen. Sie
sehen wunderschön aus und werden von den Köchen zur Verfeinerung
der Gerichte verwendet. Ebenso wie die hauseigene Kresse. Täglich
werden davon 16 verschiedene Sorten an die Küche geliefert.
At 1,300 metres above sea level, the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol also has
its own garden where our small team of gardeners attends to the
cultivation of a very wide range of herbs and flowers. Because of the
marked changes in temperature at this height, it’s by no means easy
to grow plants. What the local amateur gardeners grow often serves
as a point of reference to know what will do well in the area. This
summer the emphasis is on edible flowers such as lilies and roses.
Not only do they look beautiful, they’re used by the chefs to add an
extra refinement to the meals. The same applies to the hotel’s own
cress: Every day 16 different types are delivered to the kitchen.

Vom Alpen-Klassiker bis zur internationalen Spezialität servieren

hervorragendes Küchenteam. Dessen Leistung beeindruckte auch die
Juroren von Gault Millau. Unter der Leitung von Küchenchef Mario
Döring und seinem Stellvertreter Peter Wiedner wurde das Team zum
zweiten Mal in Folge mit zwei Hauben und 16 Punkten gewürdigt. „Über
eine solche Auszeichnung freuen wir uns natürlich sehr. Sie ist eine
Wertschätzung unserer Arbeit und zeigt, dass wir etwas von unserem
Handwerk verstehen“, so der Küchenchef. Gemeinsam mit Peter Wiedner
verfolgt der junge Koch konsequent den Anspruch, das perfekte
Menü zu kreieren. Sein Können zeigt das Team auch live bei unseren
Kochevents in der neuen Hofburg.
The Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol’s kitchen is one of the best in the whole
of Austria. Our guests will always be served food of the highest
quality, from classic Alpine dishes to international specialities. This is
guaranteed by our outstanding team of chefs whose achievements
have impressed Gault Millau judges. Under the direction of head chef
Mario Döring and his sous chef Peter Wiedner, the team has for the
second time running been awarded two toques and 16 points. Mario
Döring commented, “Of course we’re delighted to receive such an
award. It’s an acknowledgement of our work and shows that we really
know what we’re doing.” The young chef and his deputy are always
striving to create the perfect menu. The team also does live shows in
our cookery events in the new Hofburg to demonstrate their ability.

Unser Jubiläumsprogramm
Our anniversary programme
30 Jahre
Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol
Wir feiern dieses Jahr das 30-jährige Jubiläum unseres Hauses, aber
die Geschichte des Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol hat eigentlich viel früher
begonnen. Denn Hotelgründer Dr. Hans Liebherr war schon in seiner
Kindheit begeistert von den Tiroler Bergen und beschloss später, hier
ein ganz besonderes Hotel zu errichten. Mit den Worten „Ich will das
schönste Hotel Tirols bauen“, brachte er seine Vorstellungen auf den
Punkt. Lange suchte er nach dem perfekten Ort für sein Herzensprojekt,
bis er unweit der Hohen Munde eine wunderschön gelegene
Bergkuppe entdeckte, auf der heute das Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol steht.
Von allen Zimmern aus sollten die Gäste das herrliche Bergpanorama
genießen können und sich in dem großzügig und gemütlich gestalteten
5-Sterne-Hotel einfach wohlfühlen. Dass dies gelungen ist, bestätigen
seit der Eröffnung im Jahr 1985 tausende begeisterte Gäste.
Ganz den Ansprüchen des Hotelgründers folgend, ist es unser Bestreben,
Gutes stets besser zu machen. Für dieses Engagement wurde
unser Haus im Jahr 2010 mit dem Prädikat „Superior“ belohnt – als
erstes 5-Sterne-Hotel in ganz Tirol. Darüber hinaus haben wir in den
letzten Jahren alle Zimmer sowie den Großteil der anderen Hotelbereiche
komplett modernisiert und auch neue Räumlichkeiten geschaffen,
wie unser Café Wien, die Smokers’ Lounge oder unsere erst vor
wenigen Monaten fertiggestellte Eventlocation: die Hofburg.
30 years
Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol
This year we’re celebrating our hotel’s 30th anniversary, but the history
of the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol actually began much earlier. Even as a
child, Dr Hans Liebherr, who founded the hotel, had been inspired by
the Tyrolean mountains and later decided to build a very special hotel
here. With the words “I want to build the most beautiful hotel in Tyrol”,
he set about realising his ambition. He spent a long time looking for
the perfect place for his dream project until he finally discovered a
mountain top not far from Hohe Munde in a most beautiful location,
which is where the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol stands today. It has been
our intention that guests should be able to enjoy the marvellous
mountain panorama from every room and simply feel at home in the
5-star hotel designed with an eye to spaciousness and comfort. The
fact that we’ve succeeded in our intention is confirmed by thousands
of enthusiastic guests since we opened in 1985.
Completely faithful to the principles of the hotel’s founder, it is always
our ambition to make the good better. In recognition of this commitment,
our hotel was awarded the “Superior” rating in 2010 – as the
first 5-star hotel in the whole of Tyrol. In addition, since then we
have completely modernised all the rooms and other hotel areas and
created new facilities such as our Café Wien, the Smokers’ Lounge
and the Hofburg, an events location completed just a few months ago.

„Tango!“ mit Quadro Nuevo
Seit fast 20 Jahren Tourleben ist Quadro Nuevo auf der Suche nach
der Seele des Tangos. Unzählige Orte haben die abenteuerlustigen
Virtuosen bereist, verwegene Spielweisen ausgelotet und damit zweimal
den ECHO gewonnen. Anfang 2014 packten sie wieder einmal
ihre Instrumente ein: Keine Tournee sollte es diesmal werden, sondern
eine Expedition ins sommerliche Buenos Aires.
Sie bezogen Quartier in einer alten Stadtvilla, probten tagelang in der
flirrenden Mittagshitze, schwärmten abends aus, stürzten sich kopfüber
in die Szene, mischten sich unter die argentinischen Musiker, begleiteten
Tänzer, begegneten berühmten Tangueros und verrückten Straßenpoeten,
führten nächtliche Gespräche bis zum Morgengrauen und
berauschten sich an frischem Tango direkt von der Quelle. Diese musikgewordenen
Erlebnisse formten sich zum neuen Quadro Nuevo-
Programm „Tango!“.

“Tango!” with Quadro Nuevo
In the course of almost 20 years of touring, Quadro Nuevo has been
in search of the soul of the tango. The adventure seeking virtuosi
have travelled to countless places, sounded out audacious ways of
playing and twice won the ECHO. At the beginning of 2014 they
once more packed up their instruments, but this time it wasn’t to be
a tour but an expedition to Buenos Aires in the summer.
To mark our anniversary we have re-worked our internet presence
and made it much more user-friendly. Large attractive pictures draw
you into the world of the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol and convey a precise
impression of the indoor premises and outdoor facilities. There’s
no problem accessing the website from all mobile devices. A clear
menu allows you to navigate easily and the new contents arrangement
based on themes and seasons take you quickly and directly to

They found lodgings in an old town villa, practised for days and days
in the shimmering midday heat, fanned out in the evenings, threw
themselves headlong into the local scene, mixed with the Argentine
musicians, accompanied dancers, met famous tangueros and crazy
street poets, talked through the night till dawn and got high on the
fresh tango direct from the source. These experiences were translated
into music, forming the new Quadro Nuevo programme “Tango!”.
