It is the fresh clear mountain air that delights so many of 

our guests as they step onto the Interalpen-Hotel terrace 

and take in the magnificent view across the Inn Valley. The 

Alpine air here at 1,300 metres can’t fail to tempt you 

out for a ramble in colourful countryside, especially in the 

autumn months. 

As winter draws in over the Tyrolean Alps, it’s time for 

a leisurely snowshoe ramble where you can go off-trail 

in pristine snow and maybe discover your new favourite 

hidden corner. 

After a day out in the fresh air, there’s nothing finer than 

relaxing in the beautiful Interalpen-Spa. Our redesigned 

beauty and massage area impresses with its stylish and 

exclusive atmosphere and from here you can enjoy a view 

of mountain peaks and forests as you are pampered by 

soothing treatments for body and soul, enjoying precious 

moments of true relaxation. 

In December, we’re looking forward to traditional advent 

celebrations with the fragrance of biscuits and mulled wine 

and traditional Christkindl markets. We hope our magical 

Christmas programme will tempt you to celebrate at the

After a short hotel closure from 5 to 16 November, we are very 

pleased to welcome you back to the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol November 

17th. Our redesigned Spa is a new interpretation of beauty and

It’s common knowledge that the countryside around the Inter alpen- 

Hotel Tyrol is a paradise for hikers and ramblers. The Olympiaregion 

Seefeld can be discovered on three adventurous theme walks. Laid out 

symbolically in the form of a star, the trails start in the villages of 

Seefeld, Leutasch and Mösern and converge on the top of Brunschkopf 

at 1,510 metres altitude. 

The first promenade ‘Seefeld Ski Sport Trail’, begins at the Seekirchl, 

a famous landmark, and is devoted to the cultural and historical development 

of winter sports in the region. With a walking time of 2 to 2.5 

hours, ten interesting information stations and a fitness course especially 

for the child ren, this is a fun-filled hiking adventure for all the 

family. 

The ‘Ice Age Trail’ explains the geological formation of Seefeld’s high 

plateau by glaciers through interactive elements such as a Glacier 

grotto or a Glacier workshop. The trail follows a 1.5 to 2 hour route 

from Mösern, during which you can admire the impressive high plateau 

from a viewing platform on Brunschkopf. 

The final themed walk, the ‘Mental Power Trail’, is an invitation to 

follow a path to your inner self. There are twelve idyllic resting places 

along the 3 to 3.5 hour route from Leutasch through this green paradise, 

where you can replenish your energy levels and savour the 

beauty of the landscape.

Interalpen-Spa 

Guests of the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol are seeking 

rest and relaxation. There are plenty of quiet corners 

at our hotel, but the true oasis of energy is our 

redesigned 5,300 square meter Spa.

When the hotel was opened in 1985 the sheer size of our indoor 

pool was already regarded as extraordinary and every new innovation, 

which was accomplished by architect firm Monoplan, has continued 

this theme of excellence. Simply put, we strive to offer our 

guests a truly memorable wellbeing experience, from the heated 

outdoor pool filled with revitalising ‘Grander’ water to the most 

recent redesign of our beauty and massage area. The open Spalounge 

greets you with light colours and natural mat erials. As you 

enter the light flooded salon, the tinkling of the fountain is silenced 

and you can look forward to your individual consultation in completely 

tranquil space. 

The treatment rooms have soft, earth colours and a warm lighting 

atmosphere, enhancing your sense of relaxation. Lighting and temperature 

can be set to complement the phase of your treatment and 

you can choose from a selection of music or bring your favourites 

with you. These touches make your spa treatment a more intense 

and personal experience and the view from your massage bed of the

Explore our winter wonderland 

on snow-shoes 

With such a beautiful view outside your window, it’s hard to resist 

the urge to explore the stunning snow-covered landscape around 

the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol. Skiing and cross-country skiing need a 

little more preparation and equipment, but it’s easy to put on a pair 

of snow-shoes and head off without formality into the pristine, sparkling 

whiteness, on your own or with one of our experienced guides. 

Get close to nature on snow-shoes. 

Simone Herzog, Kai Pataki and Patrick Gstrein will discuss your 

wishes and capabilities and suggest a good route for you. The trail 

could take you through snowy forests around the hotel or further 

afield to a mountain inn such as Ropferstub’m or Wildmoosalm for a 

refreshment break. A snow-shoe hike builds stamina and muscles – 

the deeper the snow the better the workout. Snow-shoe walking 

strengthens the muscles which improve your stability and balance. 

You can hire snow-shoes and poles right in the Interalpen-Hotel 

Tyrol. So you just need to bring waterproof trousers and shoes, and 

of course if it’s a bright day don’t forget sun protection and sunglasses. 

Snow-shoe hiking is a great sport for active winter sports fans and 

nature lovers. The great advantage is that you don’t have to keep to 

the marked trail, so you can explore the most remote corners to 

your heart’s content. 

Well-being for body and soul in the Tyrolean Sauna Village. 

A sauna session – well-being 

for body and soul 

A sauna not only cleanses your body but relaxes you. Revitalizing 

sauna sessions and soothing infusions are especially beneficial in the 

winter months, because a sauna session can protect your body 

against common colds as the temperature falls. We use natural 

essences of eucalyptus or mint for this purpose in the Tyrolean Sauna 

Village. An infusion of mint salt is especially popular, due to its surprisingly 

cooling effect. 

You should set your own pace in the Sauna Village according to your 

individual needs. We recommend that you have a shower before you 

begin, but you should dry down with a towel before you enter the 

sauna. The cold shock after a sauna is an important element, although 

some people find it a challenge - whether it’s the fresh air, a plunge 

into cold water or a rub down with crushed ice: your body needs to 

be cooled down. 

A sauna session not only strengthens your immune system and 

improves your circulation, but the sweating and increased kidney 

activity also detoxifies your body. The relaxing and beneficial effects 

on muscles and joints, and equally on your spirit and soul are undisputed.

Rattenberg Advent – 

everything remains different 

24 – 26 November | 

01 – 03 | 08 – 10 | 15 – 17 December 2017 

With just 400 inhabitants and a surface area of just 10 hectares, 

Rattenberg is Austria´s smallest historical town. The medieval centre 

with its townhouses, cobbled streets and alleyways, now a pedestrian 

zone, is dotted with shops displaying unique glass craftwork. For some 

twenty years the town has been famous for its annual Rattenberger 

Advent festival, which is a charming, less hectic interpretation of the 

festive season. 

Standing on the banks of the Inn River, Rattenberg is tucked between 

the 10th century fortress on the hill and the river. Under the ethos, 

‘everything remains different’, there are no electric Christmas lights in 

Rattenberg, instead, the historic house facades are lit by candles, 

torches and open fires on the four weekends during advent season. 

There are no Christmas stalls in Rattenberg, instead the famous glass 

art shops show off their wares and local musicians and artistes entertain 

visitors on the Advent Stage by the town’s Christmas tree. If you 

are looking for a memorable taste experience, you should certainly try 

the elderflower-flavoured advent wine. Meanwhile beer enthusiasts 

will be in heaven with a glass of special Rattenberg advent beer.

Treat yourself to a break from the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle 

and savour advent with the fragrance of spiced biscuits and winter 

magic in the air. December is a special time at the Interalpen and a

Christmas at the 

Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol 

In the weeks leading up to Christmas a very special atmosphere 

pervades the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol. Christmas decorations are put 

up with a sense of anticipation, the fragrance of biscuits fills the hotel 

and at this traditional time of year this stylish hotel has a cosy and 

magical feel. Glittering stars decorate the windows, Christmas 

baubles adorn countless fir trees in and around the hotel and there’s 

a hive of activity in the patisserie. 

During the season, more than 30,000 Christmas biscuits are crafted 

by hand in the hotel’s own bakery. The most popular, according to 

the Interalpen-patissiers, are traditional varieties such as Linzer 

Augen, Vanilla Kipferl and Cinnamon Stars. Shortly before Christmas 

Eve there’s a surprise waiting for guests early in the morning when 

the huge Christmas tree in the hotel foyer is lit up. Christmas 

celebrations truly are heavenly at the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol.

A journey through mountain sounds and Alpine acoustics: there 

will be yodelling, plucking, stroking, lamination, colouring and improvisation! 

Jütz is an acoustic ensemble from Switzerland and the Tyrol. The 

trio respectfully uphold the long tradition of alpine folk music while 

opening it up to various regional dialects and sound colorations. 

The boundaries between traditional, classic and contemporary 

elements flow freely. Come and be amazed by Isa Kurz, Daniel 

Woodtli and Philipp Moll! 

This exhibition of pictures by multi-talented artist Rolf Denzel offers 

a journey across the breadth of his work. From large-scale oil paintings 

to unusual drawings, this is pure enjoyment for art-lovers. 

Hotel Bossa Nova are musical globetrotters, adventure-seekers and 

curious cross-border travellers of international jazz who understand 

how to immerse themselves in the most diverse stylistic genres. 

For their sixth studio album, ‘Little Fish’ the jazz quartet from Wiesbaden 

once more break down rigid artistic boundaries. Along with 

bossa nova, samba, fado and other elements of Latin jazz, but also 

cool jazz and classical jazz, flow into their compositions. Don’t miss 

this date with one of the most exciting European live bands from 

world jazz.

Tyrolean specialities – culinary

hut 

Culinary excellence in the Interalpen-mountain hut is ensured by the 

kitchen team led by Mario Döring, whose award-winning dishes 

range from traditional alpine to modern international. Perfect for this 

setting are Tyrolean favourites such as Schlutzkrapfen (ravioli), Knödl- 

Tris (trio of dumplings) or Schwammerlgulasch (mushroom goulash). 

Should you wish for something heartier, you could try Kalbs haxe, a 

glazed veal shank with a herb jus. At our traditional Tyrolean party 

evenings, it’s the done thing to try a Brettljause – a wooden platter 

of Tyrolean air-dried ham, Landjäger and Kaminwurzen (hunter’s sausages), 

but also mountain cheeses from the region and smoked 

salmon from Leutasch, served with freshly baked pretzels. 

In autumn, the Interalpen-mountain hut welcomes guests to a Törggelen 

evening. This custom has its roots in South Tyrol, where everyone 

who came to help with the grape harvest was invited to a thank 

you feast. The celebration dinner includes cream of barley or pumpkin 

soup, followed by dumplings, cabbage and smoked meat, served 

with young wine. The traditional end to the meal is chestnuts and, of 

course, wine grapes. As an alternative the chefs can prepare a 

Chinese fondue on request.

A popular speciality at the Interalpenmountain 

hut: Chinese fondue. 

The plan to build an Alpine hut close to the hotel came to being 

several years ago. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new 

Interalpen-mountain hut finally took place in November 2016 and 

was completed this May. The opening party took place on 5 July, 

when the Interalpen-mountain hut was blessed by the Dean, Dr 

Peter Scheiring in the company of Dr Isolde Liebherr and her daughter, 

Mrs Johanna Platt along with the Directors of the hotel, Mr Karl 

Brüggemann and Mr Martin Rotter. Guests at the party included the 

Mayor Mr Christian Härting, local councillors and representatives of 

all the companies involved in the construction, as well as Liebherr 

construction manager Josef Andexer and members of family business 

Unterkofler, who are both responsible for the special flair shown in 

the design of the Interalpen-mountain hut. 

Living traditions: Schuhplattler 

at the Interalpen-mountain hut. 

You can sense this flair as you glimpse the mountain hut through the 

trees for the first time. The building is set so snugly in the forest, it 

seems to have been there for years. As soon you cross the threshold, 

you have a sense of Tyrolean cosiness and tradition, characterised by 

authentic detail and some modern design elements, creating a harmonious 

overall picture. Everyone who attended the lively opening 

party was in agreement – the Interalpen-mountain hut is the perfect 

place for that unique celebration which locals call Hüttengaudi.
