16-Bit Mikrocontroller
unterstützen CAN und
netzwerkorientierte Funktionen
Renesas (Zusammenschluss
von Hitachi und
Mitsubishi) stellt zwei neue
16-Bit Single-Chip-Mikrocontroller-Familien
vor. Die
Controller sind in kompakten
Gehäuseformen mit
maximal 64 Pins und einem
integrierten CAN-Interface
(Controller Area Network)
verfügbar. Die Serien
H8/36057 und H8/36037
sind für den Einsatz in der
Kfz-Elektronik (Türmodule,
Airbag-Steuerung, Diebstahlssicherung,
usw.) konzipiert,
aber auch für industrielle
Anlagen und die Fabrikautomation
geeignet.
Von den insgesamt 16 neuen
Produkten beider Serien
sind vier mit integriertem
Flash-Speicher ausgestattet
(Bemusterungsbeginn
im dritten Quartal 2003),
während zwölf ein eingebautes
Masken-ROM besitzen
(Serienfertigung ab
dem vierten Quartal 2003).
Die neuen Mikrocontroller
werden mit einem 0,35 µm
Prozess produziert und verfügen
über einen CPU-Core
der H8/300H-Tiny-Serie.
Sie zeichnen sich durch ein
hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis
aus und
enthalten speziell für Kfz-
Bordnetzwerke aufgewertete
Funktionen. Das onchip
CAN-Interface enthält
ein Tiny Hitachi Controller
Area Network (HCAN) mit
einer maximalen Übertragungsrate
von 1 MBit/s und
umfangreichen Funktionen
sowie einem systemorientierten
Puffer für vier Messages.
Für Switching-Aufgaben
und ähnliche operationelle
Steuerungen wird das
Local Interconnect Network
(LIN) unterstützt. Die neuen
Bauelemente können als
LIN Master Mikrocontroller
eingesetzt werden. Sie ent-
halten eine Systemtakt-
Oszillatorschaltung und
eine RC-Oszillatorschaltung,
die eine Sub-Clock für
den Betrieb mit reduzierter
Verarbeitungsgeschwindigkeit
erzeugen. In Anwendungen,
in denen Systemtakt,
CPU und Peripheriemodule
außer Betrieb sind
und nur der Sub-Timer aktiv
ist (wie z.B. schlüssellose
Zugangssysteme) aktiviert
ein vom Systemtakt angesteuerter
Sub-Timer die
CPU periodisch.
Diese Betriebsart weist eine
Stromaufnahme von nur
50 µA (typisch) auf, trägt zur
Senkung der Kosten für
Bauelemente bei und hilft
16-bit microcontrollers
support CAN and
network-oriented features
Renesas (new merger of
Hitachi and Mitsubishi) introduces
two new 16-bit
single-chip microcontroller
families. These controllers
are available in compact
packages with a maximum
of 64 pins and an integrated
CAN interface (Controller
Area Network). The series
H8/36057 and H8/36037
have been designed for
automotive applications
(door modules, airbag control,
theft protection, etc.)
as well as for industrial
plants and automation.
Four of the 16 new
products of both series are
equipped with an integrated
Flash memory (first
samples available in third
quarter 2003), while twelve
of them include an embedded
mask ROM (volume
production will start fourth
quarter 2003).
The new microcontrollers
are manufactured based on
a 0.35 µm process and
equipped with a H8/300H
Tiny series CPU core. They
are characterized by an
outstanding price-performance
ratio and contain
features that have been
graded up especially for
automotive on-board networks.
The on-chip CAN
interface includes a Tiny
Hitachi Controller Area Network
(HCAN) with the maximum
transfer rate of
1 MBit/s and a rich set of
features as well as systemoriented
puffer for four
messages.
The Local Interconnect
Network (LIN) is supported
for switching and similar
operational control tasks.
The new components can
also serve as LIN Master
microcontrollers. They include
a system pulse oscillator
circuit as well as an RC
oscillator circuit which generate
a sub-clock for reduced
speed operation. In
applications with switched
off system clock, CPU and
peripheral modules, and
only the sub-timer being
active (as e.g. keyless
access), a sub-timer which
is controlled by the system
clock periodically activates
the CPU.
This operation mode only
consumes 50 µA (typically),
helps to reduce costs for
components and additionally
assists in reducing the
system’s power consumption.
