Assembly, fitting theANSCHÜTZ barreled actionThe stock and the barreled action arepacked separately for shipment and needto be assembled. However, do not do thisuntil you have followed all the procedureslisted below.•Wipe away excess surface oil•Insert the barreled action into the stock•Screw in bedding screws (two) withenclosed Allen wrench Model No. 4406(Order No. 710.6301) and tighten themalternately and uniformly. For correctadjustments we recommend our torquewrench model No. 4405(Order No. 700.6180), which is to beadjusted to 5 Nm (= 50 cmkp) for woodstocks and to 6 Nm (60 cmkp) for aluminumstocks.•Pull a cleaning patch through the barrelfrom the chamber towards the muzzle.After the first assembly there might be awarping of the wood. We would thereforerecommend to loosen and tighten thebedding screws again after some time.Check the tight fit of the screws beforeevery shooting.Cocking, loading and safetyoperation•to cock the cocking piston lift the loadinglever and pull it backwards until it isvertical.•to load push the diabolo pellet with itsflat head flush with the front of the loadingplatform.•to lock the breech press the lever forwardand down until you feel that it locked intoposition.•the signal pin at the end of the actionindicates that the rifle (with filledcompressed air cylinder) is ready forshooting.The lateral safety lever can be operatedwhen the rifle is cocked.The rifle is•safe, when the ”S“ (safe) is visible butthe ”F“ (fire) is covered•ready for shooting when the ”F“ (fire) isvisible but the ”S“ (safe) is covered.Attention:The safety lever must latch properly so thatthe ”F“ is covered in the ”safe“ position andthe ”S“ is covered in the ”fire“ position. Thelever must never be situated between thetwo.Do not store the rifle when it is cocked.Remove the compressed air cylinder beforestoring your rifle (also see chapter”Compressed Air Cylinder/Handling”!).Only use diabolo pellets in the caliber ofyour air rifle, no bolts or other foreignmaterials.UnloadingIt is only possible to remove a pellet fromthe action by firing it off which should onlybe done by firing it into a bullet trap.Observe the safety regulations with regardto the safe handling of rifles.25
