• Do not open the battery casing; protect the battery pack from mechanicaldamage. If the battery casing is damaged:- Do not use or charge the battery any more, there is a risk of fire.- Avoid contact with potentially exposed electrolyte or powder frominside the battery. If you get in contact with electrolyte or powder onthe skin or in the eyes, flush thoroughly with fresh water. Then seekmedical assistance.- Contact a Torqeedo Service Center for disposal instructions.• Only charge the battery on non-flammable ground under adult supervision.• Only charge the battery at environmental temperatures between 0°Cand 45°C (between 32° F and 113° F).• Please note that since 2009 lithium batteries with a capacity of >100Wh may no longer be carried as luggage in passenger planes (neitheras hand luggage nor in the hold). The battery supplied with thisproduct exceeds this threshold and may therefore not be transportedin passenger planes.7.4.3 Charging the batteries from the on-board batteriesIf your boat has an inverter that supplies a voltage between 100-240 V, you can simplyconnect the charger to the inverter and charge your battery from your on-board batterybank.Also you can charge the Travel battery from a 12 V battery bank (boat/car) with a directconnection cable (not included in delivery). In this case, use a cable with a cross sectionalarea of at least 0.5 mm 2 (American wire gauge 20 or bigger). The charge barrel plug hasthe measures 5.5 / 2.5 mm.EnglishIf the battery is not charged with the power supply provided (or otherTorqeedo products) please check the polarity of the connection. If thepolarity is not respected the device may be damaged and this is notcovered by the warranty.17
