If you do not use original Torqeedo equipment to charge yout batteryfrom the on-board batetry supply, do ensure that the appropriate wirediameters are used (fire hazards).To charge from on-board on-board battery banks with voltages> 12 V an inverter that converts the voltage to 100-240 Vmust be used. The inverter must have an output > 80 Watt.7.4.4 Charging the batteries using solar energyThe battery can be charged directly using the Torqeedo Solar Charger 45 W (Torqeedoitem no. 1130-00).If you use a different solar panel (not recommended), it must comply with the followingspecifications:Rated voltage24 VMaximum idle voltage 58 VMaximum power 4 ACharging the battery with solar panels that do not comply with this specificationdamages the device and this is not covered by the warranty.This also applies to using the wrong polarity.• Only charge the battery on non-flammable ground under adultsupervision.• If you are not using the Torqeedo Solar Charger, ensure proper cablediameters to avoid danger of cable overheating and fire.18
