Personal. //
Based upon the evaluation and analysis of the archaeological
investigations, the bath-house was built approximately
in the second half of the 1st century AD and was probably
extended or altered in the 2nd century AD 15. The basic construction
measured 19 by 9·5 metres and was of the “row
type” with clearly designated structures. There were three
rooms in a row: the cold bath (frigidarium), the warm bath
(tepidarium) and the hot bath (caldarium), which was
adjoined on the southwest by the furnace-room (praefurnium).
Later, to the northwest, a walled courtyard for
physical exercise (palaestra) was added, which incorporated a
separately located block of latrines. In the northeast, in front
of the cold bath, a changing-room (apodyterium) was built,
as too was a small building for the personnel to the southeast.
