30 minutes to an hour in length. A short introduction
and follow-up work, mainly in the form
of discussion, will accompany each of the presentations.

Youtubing in English – Kleingruppe

Konversationskurs für Studenten und Schüler,
die Ihr Englisch üben und verbessern wollen.
In einer unformellen Atmosphäre, üben Sie die
tagtägliche Sprache, mit vielen idiomatischen
Wendungen, die Ihre Sprache „echt“ klingen
lassen. Statt Texte zu lesen, schauen wir uns in
youtube lustige Filme an und verwenden sie
als Ausgangspunkt für Diskussionen. Die Unterrichtssprache
ist Englisch.

In this course we will be looking at current
events and topical issues as reported in the
media of the English-speaking world. We will
be reading articles from newspapers, listening
to radio news broadcasts, watching video
clips, and then discussing these.
This course will be of interest to those who
want to both improve their English and also
get a little insight into the way of thinking in
the „Anglosphere“.

American Discussion Circle – Kleingruppe

This course is for students and young people
who intend to improve their competences in
English for university, exams and for life. Participants
should have a good grasp of the language
and should take an effective part in discussions.
Short stories will provide a springboard
for conversation activities. Come discover
the American short story! We’ll look at
works by Hawthorne, Twain and Hemingway,
among others. Each story will be complimented
by author profiles and historical context,
but group discussions of the work will be the
focus of the class.
