Constantin Christ startet durch
Der Bremthaler Constantin Christ hat bei einer Reise durch
die Golfstaaten seine bisher größte Erfolgsserie auf der ITF-
Juniors-Tour eingeleitet. Der 16-Jährige nutzte die Herbstferien
letzten Jahres und den ersten Besuch der Junioren-
Serie der Internationalen Tennis-Föderation (ITF) in Bahrain
zu seinem ersten Turniererfolg auf diesem Niveau.
Constantin, der seit 2009 für den FTC spielt, gewann bei
dem Hartplatzturnier in Manama seine ersten drei Partien
klar. Erst der Schweizer Tim Srkala wurde zum ersten Püfstein,
doch Constantin bezwang ihn im Halbfinale mit 6:4,
6:4. Im Endspiel traf der Bremthaler in der Ferne auf einen
guten Bekannten, den an Nummer eins gesetzten Nils
Brinkmann (BW Heppenheim), und siegte etwas überraschend
mit 6:4, 3:6, 6:3.
Nicht nur in der Ferne, sondern auch auf heimischem Terrain
konnte Constantin seine Siegesstrecke fortsetzen.
Beim 2. Wilson-Cup des HTV im Leistungszentrum in
Offenbach kämpfte sich Constantin, der mit einer Wildcard
ins Hauptfeld gerutscht war, von Runde zu Runde.
Im Endspiel bezwang er den ebenfalls ungesetzten hessischen
Spieler Sebastian Weber vom TC Seeheim mit
6:2 und 6:3.
Constantin Christ takes off
During a trip through the Gulf States Constantin
Christ from Bremthal has celebrated his so
far greatest achievements on the ITF-Junior-
Tour. The 16 year old used last year’s autumn
vacation and his first visit to the junior-series of
the International Tennis Federation in Bahrain
to achieve his first tournament success on this
level.
At this hard-court tournament Constantin,
playing for the FTC since 2009, clearly won
his first three matches. Only the Swiss Tim
Srkala rose up to be his first touch-stone, but
Constantin defeated him at the semi final with
6:4, 6:4. Far away from home Constantin met
a well known acquaintance in the final, Nils
Brinkmann (BW Heppenheim) set on 1, and
surprisingly won with 6:4, 3:6, 6:3.
Not only far away from home, but also on local
territory Constantin was able to stay on his
winning track. Constantin slipped with a wildcard
into the peloton and faught himself from
round to round at the 2. Wilson-Cup of the
HTV at the Performance Center in Offenbach.
In the final he defeated the also unset Hessian
player Sebastian Weber of the TC Seeheim
with 6:2 and 6:3.
Als Ungesetzter gewann Constantin Christ danach auch
noch das ITF-Jugendturnier im polnischen Stettin. Der
16jährige besiegte im Einzel-Finale den an Nummer zwei
gesetzten Miki Jankovic aus Serbien mit 7:6 (5) und 6:2. Im
Semifinale hatte Christ bereits die Nummer drei der Setzliste,
den Russen Maxim Lunkin, durch einen 6:0, 6:0-Sieg
eliminiert.
Constantin ist jetzt in den Top 200 der Jugendweltrangliste
gelistet!
Wir gratulieren Constantin zu seinen herausragenden
Erfolgen, wünschen ihm viel Glück für das Neue Jahr
und freuen uns auf eine weitere Saison mit ihm in unserem
Verein.
Hereinafter Constantin Christ also as an unset
won the ITF-youth tournament in the Polish
Szczecin. In the single finals the 16 year
old defeated Miki Jankovic from Serbia set on
2 with 7:6(5) and 6:2. Christ had already eliminated
the Russian Maxim Lunkin, number
3 on the setlist, with a 6:0, 6:0 triumph at the
semi finals.
Constantin is now amongst the top 200 on
the youth world ranking list!
