ATTENTION: 1963 CORVETTE OWNERS •••••••

he did not know it at the time, in 2003 Chip
Miller took part in his fi nal Corvettes at Carlisle. One
of the more memorable showcases that year was his 53
’53s display. You might be thinking that 53 Corvettes
isn’t much, but when you consider that only 300 were
manufactured in 1953, that means just under 20% of
the inaugural Corvette were at Carlisle. While he did not
make that display happen solely on his own, even now
you can give kudos to Chip for a job well done.
Next year, Corvettes at Carlisle and another Miller,
this time Chip’s son Lance, will attempt to better his
dad’s total 10 years later with a 63 ’63s display. 1963
ended on a sad note for Americans as President Kennedy
was assassinated, but the year started out well
for automotive enthusiasts with the introduction of
the C2 Corvette. 21,513 cars were produced, retailing
with a base MSRP of $4,037. The ’63 ’Vette featured a
brand-new coupe body style and was the only year for
a split rear window.
Stats and facts are nice to read, but seeing the real
deal is even better. That’s why Corvettes at Carlisle is
inviting the best of the best from the Corvette Class
of ‘63 to show their stuff . Unlike Chip’s display, this
one will feature less than 1% of all cars produced during
the model year, but that doesn’t make it any less
