147* Peoplewho dive in a diving projectwho have suffered an incident
ofDCI shouldrecord detailsofthe treatment they receivedin their
dailyrecord (log book). They should show this to the supervisorbefore
taking part in theirfirstdive afterthetreatment in order that a check
can be made oftheir fitness to return to diving.Supervisorsshould
seek guidance from the diving contractor orthe company'smedical
13(1)(b) adviserifthere is doubt about a diver's fitness to dive.

(6) In this regulation, "medical examinerofdivers"meansa medical
practitionerwho is, orwhofalls withina class ofmedical practitioners which is,for
the time being, approvedin writingby theExecutive forthepurposes ofthis
regulation; and any such approvalmay begiven generally orrestricted to any class of
diverordive.
148 HSE approvesdoctorsto carry out divingmedicalexaminations
and assessments. These medicalexaminersare selectedfor approval
based on theirtraining in diving physiology and their knowledge of
diving.This approval is fora limitedperiod, usuallyfor one or two
