commission shall make any public statement concerning any matter before the commission without<br />

prior approval <strong>of</strong> the commission.<br />

36.18(7) Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the commission from releasing any information<br />

regarding possible criminal violations to appropriate law enforcement authorities, wherever located,<br />

to attorney disciplinary and bar admission authorities in other jurisdictions, or any information<br />

regarding possible violations <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Iowa</strong> Code <strong>of</strong> Judicial Conduct to the Commission on Judicial<br />

Qualifications.<br />
