Rangmanch, literally meaning “coloring of the stage,” depicts the puja to consecrate the space and awaken the senses with the<br />
ringing of a bell, lighting of a diya, blowing of a conch. Invoking the Hindu trinity – Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwara – the dancers<br />
pay respect to the four corners of the earth.<br />

Tarana Dance Academy, Kathak-‐Kala Vihar, California Nupur Dance Academy<br />
TARANA Dance Academy is a Kathak school founded in 2005 by Pragya Dasgupta, senior disciple of Guru Bandana Sen.<br />
Currently the academy has branches in Fremont, Pleasant and San Ramon CA. Kathak Kala Vihar was founded in 2010 by Sangita<br />
Nandy who has trained under Guru Bandana Sen. California Nupur Dance Academy was founded in 2006 by Dipanwita<br />
Sengupta who is also trained by Guru Bandana Sen. This academy trains students in Kathak, folk dances and Rabindra Nritya.<br />

Vishnu disciple of Smt. Jhelum Paranjape founded Odissi Vilas in ____. He then traveled to Orissa for intensive studies with<br />
Padmavibhusan Kelucharan Mohapatra. Vishnu has performed in India, Italy, Canada, and the U.S. He has presented hundreds<br />
of solo performances and lecture demonstrations.<br />
