visual arts, voice and writing. During ARTS<br />
week, finalists will participate in master<br />
classes, workshops, interviews, performances<br />
and exhibitions. The final judging will take<br />
place during this time and a panel of judges<br />
will determine cash awards. Award amount<br />
varies from $100 to $1,000. Applicants must<br />
be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.<br />

(NHCFAE) Scholarships<br />
The National <strong>Hispanic</strong> Coalition of Federal<br />
Aviation Employees (NHCFAE) is a professional<br />
organization acting as an advocate for<br />
equitable representation and opportunities<br />
in employment, development, and leadership.<br />
The NHCFAE’s scholarship program<br />
assists dependants of NHCFAE members,<br />
students of <strong>Hispanic</strong> descent, minorities and<br />
women to complete their higher education<br />
efforts by recognizing and rewarding<br />
academically superior performance,<br />
achievements, leadership, and community<br />
involvement. The NHCFAE scholarships<br />
are available on a competitive basis. Some<br />
scholarships are reserved for members of<br />
NHCFAE and their dependent family members<br />
(spouse/child); others are open to the<br />

National <strong>Hispanic</strong> Health Professional<br />
Student Scholarship Program<br />
The <strong>Hispanic</strong> Health Professional Student<br />
Scholarship Program is the only national<br />
scholarship program targeted at <strong>Hispanic</strong><br />
students who are committed to careers in<br />
health care — medicine, nursing, dentistry,<br />
public health, health management and policy<br />
analysis, health research, and allied health.<br />
There is a dearth of <strong>Hispanic</strong> health<br />
professionals in the United States. Only four<br />
percent of all physicians, three percent of all<br />
dentists, and two percent of all total nurses<br />
are <strong>Hispanic</strong>. We must increase these<br />
numbers. The National <strong>Hispanic</strong> Health<br />
Foundation (NHHF) has developed a unique<br />
program to award scholarships to talented<br />
students, the future leaders in health care.<br />
The National <strong>Hispanic</strong> Health Foundation,<br />
affiliated with the Robert F. Wagner Graduate<br />
School of Public Service, New York University,<br />
will award 16 scholarships to dental,<br />
medical, nursing, public health, and policy<br />
students who exhibit exceptional academic<br />
performance, leadership, and commitment<br />
to the <strong>Hispanic</strong> community. Each recipient<br />
will receive $5,000.<br />
