America (PRSSA) Marcia Silverman<br />

Minority Student Award<br />

Annually, PRSSA and the PRSA Foundation<br />

offer many individual scholarships to help<br />

enhance students’ education. The Marcia<br />

Silverman Minority Student Award provides<br />

$5,000 to a minority student who is committed<br />

to public relations and has demonstrated<br />

academic achievement in public relations<br />

and overall studies. Applicants must be<br />

rising college seniors enrolled in a journalism<br />

program, public relations studies or<br />

courses preparing for a career in public<br />

relations and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.<br />

PRSSA also offers several other scholarship<br />

opportunities for students pursuing public<br />

relations-oriented degrees.<br />

QuestBridge<br />

QuestBridge is a nonprofit program that<br />

links bright, motivated low-income students<br />

with educational and scholarship opportunities<br />

at some of the nation’s best colleges.<br />

QuestBridge is the provider of the National<br />

College Match Program and the College<br />

Prep Scholarship.<br />

QuestBridge’s College Prep Scholarship<br />

provides more than 1,000 awards that equip<br />

outstanding low-income high school juniors<br />

with the knowledge necessary to compete for<br />

admission to leading colleges. The College<br />

Prep Scholarship is a gateway to further<br />

opportunities that QuestBridge offers. It is<br />

designed to prepare students to be successful<br />

applicants to the QuestBridge National<br />

National Scholarships<br />

College Match program at the start of their<br />

senior year. The National College Match pairs<br />

outstanding low-income high school seniors<br />

with admission and full scholarships to<br />

QuestBridge partner colleges.<br />

Students who are admitted to a Quest-<br />

Bridge partner college through QuestBridge<br />

will also join a national network of hundreds<br />

of Quest Scholars who are as committed<br />

to helping others as they are to their own<br />

academic excellence and professional<br />

aspirations.<br />

The Roybal Foundation Public Health<br />

Scholarship Program<br />

The purpose of the Lucille and Edward R.<br />

Roybal Foundation Scholarship Program is<br />

to provide scholarships to <strong>Hispanic</strong> students<br />

in their junior or senior year or in a<br />

graduate program of an accredited college<br />

or university. Students must be pursuing<br />

public health careers and wish to serve the<br />

interest of low-income, Spanish-speaking<br />

communities in the United States. The Roybal<br />

Foundation offers scholarships in four<br />

areas: optometry, pharmacy, nursing, and<br />

public health-related programs. Individual<br />

scholarships will be in the amount of $5,000<br />

for graduate students and $2,500 for undergraduate<br />

students. Applicants must have<br />

a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate<br />

financial need.<br />
