o The idea with the plastic film conservation method is to test an alternative way to the wet
storage.
o Furthermore there will be made a monitoring of the reaction of the bark beetles under
conditions in piles, that are wrapped with plastic film.
• Assessment of the plastic film conservation method - conservation of logs under removal of oxygen
o after the storms in the 90´s the idea was born to store wood under removal of oxygen to set all

o considering the conservation of broad-leafed trees and conifers concerning the possible loss of
quality and other damages after storage.
o In case of the broad-leafed trees the product was veneer, that should be bompared with
products from fresh wood
o the empirical study concerning the quality of conifer sawn wood produced from log that was
stored in plastic film is going on.
