Artwork Description |One wouldn’t normally associate abstract color fields with the art ofstudio photography,<br />
or for that matter, byemploying traditional analogue film. But that is<br />
exactly what Shirana Shahbazi’s most recent work addresses. Though framed<br />
separately, the images often bleed into one another, creating astructure ornarrative,<br />
asetting, ascene, abackdrop for the imagination. Often she employs<br />
various media, such as billboard painting only to have it photographed, and it is<br />
through this overlapping of media that she continually questions the very nature<br />
of a‘medium’ at all.<br />
