<strong>The</strong> Forestry Division has prepared a review <strong>of</strong> mangrove habitats on Union Island. This report identifies mangrove stands<br />

at seven locations on the island, and indicates their area and zonation at three sites: Ashton Bay (about 48 acres), Richmond<br />

Bay (about 14 acres), and Clifton Bay Reserve (about 3 acres). <strong>The</strong> report highlights the importance <strong>of</strong> mangroves for<br />

coastal conservation, including lists <strong>of</strong> birds found in them, and recommends that they be protected.<br />
